So I work Friday through Sunday at NYU morning into the evening. The Friday crew is wonderful and sometimes we chitchat and they say good morning and have a good day. They know what time I’m coming in and leaving. Very kind gentleman on Fridays. Black “gentleman” that works Saturday and Sunday is a different story. I always say good morning to everybody whether I’m just seeing them in passing whether I’m leaving an elevator and I tell them to have a good day. This guy I say good morning and his responses what time and to hand a ticket to me in a tone like I’m bothering him. Today though I think I figured out why. Maybe he doesn’t talk to woman. A white man was next after me and he said good morning to him with a more pleasant voice. I try to bring kindness and peace to the world and bring people together, but people will never come together with that kind of behavior and poor treatment will always stay around. I hope he finds peace. I know it won’t effect the business, but I don’t support that treatment so im going to find somewhere else to park. It brings negative energy to my day when I’m happy and excited for work and someone can’t just be kind back.
