A lot less foot traffic than other places. People looking for a quiet and peaceful time will like it here. Not a very difficult trail and good for a quick workout.

Dropped in here twice in a month to go down the river. Clean, Easy to get in and out. Great fun.

It's a small hike (with all your gear, it can be cumbersome) to the river's edge, but it's all good from there. It's easy to get in because of the concrete stadium steps they have going right into the water. Nice slow float, with a few stops along the way (there's a 20-25 ft cliff that you can jump from at about the halfway point), and it lasted about 2 hours. We did paddle through the small rapids that pop up from time to time, so that may have made it go quicker than others experience. It was a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon in August.

Great short hike along the river.

Powers Island Unit is primarily a walking trail or Kayaking / Tubing launch spot. There is not camping at this location
There are not any campsites and I believe they lock the gate at night
At the Powers Island unit there is a grass area with picnic tables near the buildings that would work. It is sometimes a staging area for people that bring their own rafts. The parking lot is paved. As of right now, the restrooms are still closed but there is a drinking fountain you can get to. If you Google maps the address and look at the satellite view you will be able to see the area.
There are no paved trails except for a small path to the dock on the river.
Don't know about a senior option but you can buy a pass
$35 for an annual pass as well I run there most every week so it makes since!
