Honestly can't believe how unprofessional, rude, and incompetent this clerk's office is. I called to ask about a case that had not been updated in their computer system for several days after the hearing date (at the circuit court I used to work at, we ran checks daily to ensure this didn't happen in our case load :)). I spoke to someone and asked if she could tell me what happened in the case. She was very exasperated and said, "Well, I have NO idea! They're UPSTAIRS, we're DOWNSTAIRS." First of all....what does that even mean? There was a pause and she asked if there was an attorney on the case. I told her no. She sighed really heavy and said, "What's the defendant's name?" I told her. She said, "Thank you." I didn't respond because I figured she was, ya know, looking it up, and I don't have a response to that. Then she says, "MA'AM? ARE YOU THERE?" I said, "Yes, I'm here?" She said, "WELL, I said THANK YOU, and got NO RESPONSE!" ...............What am I supposed to say. I said, "I didn't think I needed to respond." Then she HUNG UP ON ME. Like, lady, I don't know who you think you are, but trust me, sis, as someone who worked in a clerk's office for 3.5 years in a jurisdiction much more jumpin' than Chesterfield, it's not a hard job. It's not hard to 1.) Keep track of ya'll's cases and 2.) not be an absolute B over the phone for no reason. Bye.

The grounds are always kept clean, and the building protected and well kept. Good job to the officers and janitors.

I don't think the judges are sitting in their chambers reading google reviews.
First, congratulations! Before you have any legal ceremony, you'll need to get a marriage license from the circuit court clerk's office. That's located on the ground floor of the main courthouse, to your immediate left after you pass through security. The license is valid as soon as it's issued and for a couple of months after. The same clerk who gives you the license can also give you a list of authorized local wedding officiants. Some of them will meet you at the courthouse to have a no-frills civil ceremony. So, you could get the license in the morning, step outside to call people on the list, pause for lunch, and return to get married the same day.
Go to the Cir Court and they have a customer service representative who will direct you.
