St. Mark's Lighthouse

Is there a cost

I didnt saw any in the beach and around the lighthouse. The lighthouse itself is closed when I went there.

This weekend

Its turned off temporarily to protect wildlife/birds. Can't remember details.

You can purchase a yearly pass for $25 if you plan on going back throughout the year. Call the main number during business hours for more info.

At this time during covid the entry to the lighthouse is restricted but under normal circumstances yes you can walk up to the top.

There were no lighthouse tours when I visited last week end, but the park is open and you can visit the outside grounds.

The beaches are great. Not much current or waves. More sand bars and shallow water when the tide goes out. Super fun. Watch out for Jellyfish when you walk out though. And for the hotel, I wish I could remember the name of it. I want to say winningham. I may be wrong on the name but its A big red 3 floor hotel off the main road from central florida. Great hotel. Personal staff and wonderful prices for such a nice place.

Yes, across the entrance on U. S. 98 is a campground. There is no camping in the refuge unless you are thru hiking.

Fun place, St Mark's Animal Refuge. Lot to see, look for the alligators, challenge to spot. At the point the light should be open to the public

Yes, there are many

Pretty sure they are banned at all state historical sites. I believe I remember it there. FL even protects anything invriver waters but you can checkbit out on line somewhere.
