We stopped by for lunch on a Saturday. The hostess didn't say a word, even when I held the door for her. She just dropped menus on a table. We then waited for 8 minutes without so much as an acknowledgement, so we left.

Terrible bartender service! Wanted a bite to eat after a long day before heading home. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the Hostess and directed to the bar. I sat down, the bartender was standing right in front of me and not once looked in my direction, greeted or acknowledged my presence. One person was seated at the other end of the bar with their food and drink. The bartender walked over to the other guest and began engaging them with silly conversation. About 5-10 minutes later another bartender arrived asking if I had been waited on, I told him no, as I glanced over at the first bartender wondering what was going on with him, or is this a regular thing, hopefully not! The 2nd bartender kindly handed me the menus and asked if I wanted to get started with a drink. The restaurant was not that busy. There were at least 2 Managers standing by, and I hope at least one of them takes notes regularly and addresses these types of issues with their staff for the sake of protocol. No one wants to go into an establishment and be ignored, wait for long periods, (according to some of the written reviews) or have to deal with unpleasant attitudes due to inhospitable Staff members. Hopefully other Matchbox Restaurants have better services for their guest including a warm welcome/smile! BTW, above all else, I enjoyed my Caesar Salad with Blackened Salmon.
