Great (but very short) rock climbing routes right off the trail, about 2 minutes from where you park. Check Mountain Project for details, but extremely easy to set up top rope, and a variety of difficulties.

Questions & Answers

Is the Ranger Station closed on Saturday and Sunday all year round? I'm thinking of August 8 and 9 when there will be people here from out of state, hoping to see the butterflies on the grounds.

What is the regulation regarding dogs on or off leash in the Placitas trails area off 165? No one seems to know the answer? The Cibola National Forest web site says leashes required only in established recreational areas?
