This place is a disorganized circus. People retiring (or quitting) has resulted in nobody knowing who does what anymore, and no one wants to be the first person to take leadership and responsibility. Trying to get solid information out of anyone is like pulling teeth, and what the correct answer is changes so frequently it ends up not being worth the effort in dealing with them.

Dealing with these people is much more difficult than it should be. In the four years that I've been an EMT in Maryland I've never had a positive encounter with someone from MIEMSS. Everyone from MIEMSS that I've interacted with has been poor at communication, arrogant, and/or had a poor attitude. Additionally, I've heard reports of nepotism within MIEMSS (if you're from MIEMSS and you're reading this, you know who you are). Sometimes I honestly wish I became an EMT in a different state just so that I would never have to deal with MIEMSS.
