As an outsider—that is, someone who is not a regular or a member of this group— I have gotten to witness the good and the bad at this church. Some, let me reiterate SOME, not all aren’t who they say are. You will only get to meet very few genuine people here as everyone else appears to be two faced. Like most churches, this one is eager to welcome newcomers and want them to feel at ease. But, that is totally opposite. When your new everyone puts their best smile forward. But once they get tired of you they show their true colors and you become a stranger. If you make one mistake it’s never forgiven. This place expects perfect from imperfect people. People talk behind your back and go up to you the next day with a smile.

My family and I have been going to this church since 2005. I’ve experienced healing, salvation, love and restoration in this church. The support I get and fellowship in Hope of the City Church is amazing. We love the pastors and how they deliver Gods messages every Sunday. Worship team is phenomenal. We are inspired by the growth of this church. Church planting from Alaska to the Philippines and house churches all over the world By the grace of God. In Washington alone there is 27 active house churches and growing. I thank God that he guided us to this church. I would encourage and invite folks to come visit Hope of the City Church on Sundays. 1st service is at 9am second service is at 11am and 3rd service is at 1 pm😊. God bless 🙏🏼

I found this place awhile back and have been going here for a year. The services are OK and ill say that the people are friendly. So why the low rating? Like everyone here, the services are very theatrical. Worship team does their best to honor Christ and after meeting with a couple of them, I can see they do care. But my main problem comes from Pastor Luis whom I feel is very two faced. While I can understand not wanting to open up due to strangers maybe from bad people from his experiences in the Philippines, this was the first church with a pastor that didn't really feel welcoming. On stage and on the pulpit, he is very charismatic and is believablg. From the screaming and crying, anyone can believe from the show thats put on from the sunday. I tried to get to know Pastor Luis more but what turned me off was immediately being passed onto his assistant as if I were nothing to "make an appointment" making it feel like he was brushing me off having questions about my faith. I understand that Pastors have a busy schedule, but its also their job to invite a community and lead them to Christ Jesus and never have i felt dismissed by a pastor in every Christ centered church I've been to. I'm sure he's a good guy and those who know him have every right to believe he is much more than that based on all the slides shows based on their Philippines trip. Unfortunately, I saw right through that throughout the year after praying and basing my visits on 1 John 4:1 and hate to say that this church doesn't feel right to me. I even tried to join the worship team myself but there is a very long and convoluted process for onboarding and said forget it. The only good thing I can about this location is Pastor Jeff Laigo. I feel like he is the most genuine leader of this church and has a heart for others. I'm sorry if i offended others here who feel emotionally attached to this church and I can totally understand that. But with my own experiences, I hate to say that I've felt disconnected and neglected after trying to find a community to know Christ and feel that my low rating illustrates this. I pray that my experiences can shed a light on things to make things better and will continue to search for a Bible believing church.
