The Security Guard here is very rude and disrespectful. My wife and I had a really bad experience with him today. Carol Simpson and the other lady were nice and able to help us. For sure this was last time we visit this office; if you need help and nice people, then go to Parsippany office.

Possibly one of the worst government agency offices in the region. The African American lady at the counter farthest from the entrance is ill-behaved, rude and simply has no customer service skills. From the moment you walk-in (with an appointment), starting from the security guard performing an over-the-top security check for 5 mins, you get a feeling of passive intimidation and general unhelpfulness. I had a situation where, unfortunately, I had misplaced an original IRS notice and hence was explaining my situation including the lost notice contents, but this lady would not even try and listen and understand and kept saying things like “I cannot help you”. She was rude, raised her voice multiple times and even accused me of doing so, when I was very courteous at all times. I tried politely a few to get her to understand my situation but this lady is something else. IRS should review this office’s performance, especially this specific agent. I am not sure if this lady is even competent enough to handle typical taxpayer help type needs. My recommendation would be to find a different location, even if you have to travel a few more miles, because, chances are you will either be humiliated and treated extremely poorly, or would likely not get anything done anyway and would have wasted your valuable time. Unfortunately, you cannot give a 0-rating.
