Before I get into my complaints, I just want to say the staff is extremely nice. They deserve all the praise in the world. I could not have been more please with their service. The hotel? The location is great, they have a free airport shuttle, & (at least my room) had a microwave/minifridge but the hotel itself leaves a little to be desired. 1. It drastically needs an interior update, starting with gutting the lobby. It smells like an ashtray... I'm not sure how long ago Tampa banned in door smoking but clearly that smell is not leaving on its own. I've grown up around smokers my whole life, so I'm not usually sensitive to smoke smells but this was almost unbearable. To make it worse, this is the area where the hotel breakfast is set up. Who has an appetite with that smell lingering around them? Pro tip: use the back door to bypass the lobby entirely. 2. Speaking of the back door..... is that thing ever locked? I never once had to use my card to enter. The elevators are right next to the back door & on the opposite side of the building from the reception desk. I think most people would prefer it to be locked at least after dark. 3. It's loud, you can hear everyone in the hallway. Not really much they can do about that but maybe put some slow close hinges on the doors so they don't slam all night long? 4. The beds are very firm. It wasn't a deal breaker for me but definitely could be for others. All in all, if you're doing a quick stop over stay - this hotel is fine but anything extended? Maybe choose a different location.

Loyal Hampton inn girl here, but this is one I would avoid. Very out dated, you can tell the moment you walk in that It used to be a hotel that allowed smoking but doesn’t anymore. Walls were very thin and overall just noisy. I had two rooms booked online where I got to pick the room number. The second reservation they didn’t honor the room choice. Room was not cleaned, which I understand is policy not to do unless asked. We asked, they only brought fresh towels and did nothing less. The whole weekend we had a pile of towels in the bathroom that were not taken away. When we asked the house keeping staff about it (after coming back to a dirty room we requested to be cleaned) they didn’t speak English which was fine but alternative was not provided. And last but certainly not least, the shower was broken. You could only consistently get boiling hot water from the shower head. I had to turn on and off the shower multiple times to get any semblance of water that I could shower with (and I love hot showers). Elevators did not work consistently either. Would not stay here again. Hilton needs to intervene and update as it seems like this one was forgotten.

This is a beautiful hotel. The free hot breakfast was great!! I love the area it is in because it is pretty close to the shopping areas BUT!! the mattress was as hard as the floor!!! It was the worst/hardest bed I have ever slept on. My body was sore after a night of suffering on that bed. I probably would have gotten better sleep on the actual floor!! It could have been a perfect experience if the bed was way more soft and comfortable.

Room was solid. Breakfast was decent. However. Never came to our rooms to clean. When we approached the house keeper to give us towels, soap, toilet paper, they didn't speak English and could not help us. In addition. When we arrived one elevator was down. Two days later, both elevators were shut down and we hand to take the stairs 6 floors each way. Not their fault, but no signs anywhere, no notifications, so people were waiting forever on each floor waiting for the elevators. And we heard this started a day before we got there when they had to evacuate the building due to the motor on the first elevator that went down. The shuttle would not take us to the football game on Sunday. These are petty complaints but just seemed a but left to be desired. I likely wouldn't return just from these little things if other options were available.

I couldn't see any while I was there.
3 pm Steve is right if we have the rooms we will accommodate you but please not too early. We don't like to make people wait but we do have to make them wait when they come too early.
