Fascinating historical lighthouse. Very worth seeing this amazing piece of our California coastline history. The lighthouse itself needs restoration, awaiting fundraising to do so. The beautiful refracting light has been taken down into a museum below until the lighthouse is restored. The view and clips, beaches around are beautiful, the view from the deck behind the museum is wonderful. If you have an hour to spare along Highway 1, this is worth the stop. I briefly glanced in the shop, but did not have mask, so could not go in to browse. We drove down road past park, and explored actual coastline, along dunes covered with ice plants overlooking the low cliff and rocks. There are no food or snacks, bring your own. Restrooms are state park primitive.

The lighthouse itself is closed, but you can walk along the path and park for free. To rent a room at the Hostel approximately 300 or so a night, depending the time of year. It's my favorite lighthouse, scenery and drive is breathtaking
Free though donations are accepted and the gift shop helps keep it free.
There is a hostel at the lighthouse. But to answer your question, there is camping in the area.
