The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. The room was very clean and beautifully decorated. The view was lovely (we were in room 401). The AC works extremely well, I’m not sure where some of the complaints in other reviews came from. We actually got too cold. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, as was the chaise lounge by the window. I’ve never slept as good away from home as I did in this room. There’s a small private beach and a pool. We didn’t have time to swim but it looked like the other guests were very much enjoying themselves. There’s also a rooftop bar that I did not get to visit and a restaurant we ordered food from. It was very good. I will most definitely stay here again if I’m in the area! Highly recommend!

Beautiful, modern, spacious, clean hotel. The view of the water blew me away when I first walked into my room. I even enjoyed watching a dolphin swim by. I stayed without a car so I mostly eat at the downstairs bar where the food was delicious and the bartenders were wonderful. But also do yourself a favor and walk to the Rocky Point Deli down the road for a yummy local breakfast or lunch.

This hotel was by far AMAZING!!!! I want to give a special THANK YOU to the front desk agent (Lamont) who saw our young children fussy in the lobby and quickly checked us in. Lamont went out of the way to ensure the room we had would accommodate our family of 5 and accommodated our late checkout due to a last minute delay with our airline on the last day of checkout so we would not be stranded at the airport. Lamont really made us feel important and at home. Housekeeping was PHENOMENAL as they cleaned everyday we were there; most hotels do not anymore. The extended two queen room with bay view was STUNNING! The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was a great size. The hotel has a beautiful pool that was not crowded during our recent stay. The hotel also has a bar in the lobby and I forget the bartenders name but he was also amazing. The Valet staff were quick and courteous. We were so happy with this modern hotel that we tried to change our flight to extend our stay. Rusty Pelican was right next to the hotel, the beach and whiskey Joes was literally a 2min drive. What more could you ask for? This will be our ONLY hotel we choose when we visit Tampa in the future.

We were off to a rough start on our check in day when The Current had no power and the front desk lost our reservation so we never received a call alerting us that the hotel was closed. Thankfully, the following day everything was back up and running and the hotel made up for the trouble by offering to pay for a relocated hotel, and then meal vouchers and an upgraded room once we were able to return to The Current. The room was absolutely beautiful, very contemporary and incredible bay views. The room was surface level clean, but upon closer inspection, the harder to reach areas could use a better cleaning. Hotel staff were friendly and efficient. Public areas of the hotel were great, including the pool, workout room, and beach. The restaurant and rooftop bar are also good but pricey. The largest downfall to the hotel is the mandatory valet parking which costs $21.50 per night. While it was annoying to not be just be able to park on our own, the valet staff was extremely quick—our car was always at the door before we even got off the elevator. Overall, a decent stay. Not my favorite stay and I’m not sure if I would choose to stay again.
