My Dad was in and out of this facility, they did help him regain strength each time so that he could go home. The last time he was there we had some bad experiences. He had celiac disease, which means if he has gluten he can't get nutrition from the food. We forced a meeting right when he went in to make sure they understood, (their standard is to wait 2 weeks to meet with the family). Each meal had "no gluten" on the paper slip that came with it. However, they did feed him gluten, and the staff did not really know what gluten was. He got diarrhea and was weak until we finally figured it out. They did not apologize, just agreed to educate the staff! He suffered because of their negligence, even though my Mom and 3 sisters thought we were watching. The second problem was in Physical Therapy. They had him use a type of lift where he had to be strong enough to help. He wasn't and got a huge bruise all along his side. Charlie, the PT blamed it on Dad for not telling him he was not strong enough. Dad was 94 and trying his best, he was in their care! They are the only game in Port Townsend, there are worse places elsewhere it's a tough business, they do have many good, helpful staff. But every patient needs a strong advocate, just be vigilant, verify.

My grandmother and dad were both taken here, they both had great help by the nurses and staff. There last days were in comfort with dedication by the staff there. It was called KieTye center then.
