Have been multiple times now. Have had a root canal and two temporary teeth buildups. Have several more sessions planned to restore my teeth. The staff is friendly and professional, and do quality work. The doctors check the students' work at varying points. Almost every time they found something very minor that they corrected. This level of thoroughness is non-existent in private practice, for obvious reasons. The cost is roughly 10 - 25% of private practice. Extremely affordable, comparatively. Yes, it takes a lot longer. Expect that going in. These are students who need to practice and do well to pass inspections, so they take their time. It's unfair to the institution to complain that it's not as speedy as a private dentist. Remember the old adage: Things can be good, cheap, and fast. But you only get to pick two. For the people complaining about painful treatments: YOU need to be an advocate for yourself. Your healthcare provider is not a mind reader. If something hurts, tell them immediately and they'll give you more anesthetic. This isn't rocket science. I highly recommend coming here. If you need extensive dental work done like I do and you're on the fence, give it a shot. I saw 2 private dentists a week before starting treatment here, and I will say with all confidence that ATSU's comprehensive exam was 10x more thorough. Just took longer. (:

Unprofessional attitude. Service ok

Their ortho program only accepts new patients that need new braces. They refuse to work on a retention patient who's orthodontist died and patient literally has nowhere else to go. This doesn't reflect well on the university and school's so-called mission to help the community. Two thumbs down. Scary to think these students won't graduate with much retention experience!

Had came in recently for an adjustment on my retainer and replacing my permanent bottom retainer and had the absolute worst service I had in my life in any place. Doctor Serrano the orthodontist gave me such a hard time while I was in the middle of my procedure and gave me a lot of attitude. She was mumbling under her breath on how difficult and stressful it was to fix my bottom retainer because my gums were bleeding. Had I been able to speak, I would have asked her if she preferred me to come a different day or even see a different doctor there. I have never felt so uncomfortable and upset as a paying customer in my entire life. On top of all this now that I’m back home, I feel like the bottom retainer isn’t installed right like I had previously. Now i’m sitting here wondering if I should make another appointment, pay again, just to see if this was indeed done right. Im usually not one to complain but I feel that this kind of service and behavior should not go undocumented.

Is deep cleaning available? What are the fees?

Alicia Zamudio-Caswell | Jul 8, 2022
Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health | Jul 8, 2022

The ATSU-ASDOH Dental Clinic offers the same services as a private-practice general dentistry clinic. Because we are university-affiliated, our fees are very reasonable. Everyone is welcome at our clinics, and there are no income qualifications necessary to take advantage of our services. Specific fees for dental services will be explained to you before you receive treatment.

My daughter went to a new dentist because her insurance changed. The first visit, they had her get fluoride treatments. Six months later, they say she has 8 cavities and needs laser treatments for deep gum pockets. Do you give 2nd opinions?

lipstick and bruises stickel | Jun 8, 2022
Judyth Letoux | Jun 8, 2022

You call them and depending on how busy they are you get on a wait list I got on in late November and had my first appointment in January even though they said the wait would be longer so get on the list even if it seems to long to wait they do bridges if what you need is to difficult for younger students they refer you to the nextdoor building with more advanced students they do pretty much everything the quality of service and work is excellent 👍👍👍 their doctors don't let the students do anything without supervision and they are great

Do you provide temporary fillings

Their care is incredible but leave a little extra time since they're a training school and every procedure has to be double-checked! I love the fact that they practice "Renaissance" techniques of caring for the entire person and their overall wellbeing, not just their dental needs!
