You should not live here if you: Have pets- the apartment manager threatened to call the pound on a disabled Veterans service dog. There is a large number of people saying dogs are against their 'religion' and making official complaints to the front office. So the manager is attempting to take families puppies, services dogs, even owners who've paid the pet deposit is not safe from the managers harassment. Have children- we told the manager we have a teenage African American foster child living with us and the manager reacted as if she was a violent criminal and became very hostile. Nami is the daycare worker and resources manager she is very rude and disrespectful. Nami was informed by social worker's that our child was disabled and in need of daycare. Nami simply refused to work with us and said his disability wasn't her problem. She said his disabilities weren't this companies concern. Are disabled/have a car- people used to park behind the building because there is over 63 disabled residents and 0 handicapped parking spots. However the apartment recently began calling the parking police and towing cars on disabled residents without any sign or warnings. In some cases you'll see disabiled elders walking blocks from their cars to get home falling, having breathing problems and overall struggling to get from their cars back home. As far as elevators go we have them however they often have large amounts of adult human urine in them. Need electricity- we have more blackouts in this building year round than anywhere all year round. The best part is everything here including your house locks are electric so when we do have blackouts your locked out of the building. Don't like obsessive heat- these beautiful solid cemented apartments are designed like hotels. When its 90 degrees outside its 120 inside because no matter what you do the apartments re designed to push hot air in each apartment. We've had children getting sick, elderly and disabled people getting sick from obsessive heat. Even with a couple hundred dallors in air conditioners we are not allowed to open windows and it wouldn't stop the hot air from being pushed in each day. Dislike Socialized Racial Tension- Due to this being low income housing many residents will not step forward in fear of losing their homes. However it is my belief that everyone within this facility is subject to have the right to fair and equal treatment despite the Complexity of individual's skin even, if that group of individual's is white or American. It saddens me to know Nami is still working here keeping one group of people from having access to resources (provided by the building for all residents) based on her own personal beliefs. Furthermore, it saddens me that she is allowed lower the self-esteem and confidence of these individual's. Recently I've noticed my caucasian mother seemed discouraged by the resource manager Nami. I noticed when asked for help Nami smirks before declining your request, glares at specific individuals and overall is hostile towards one race of people. Nami typically delivers free dippers, food and other products provided by the building only to the doors of colored none American residents only. This also concerns me because Nami often glares and gives our 3 year old foster child dirty looks in the elevator. The 3 year old child is no longer in the facility due Nami's multiple disrespectful encounters with the child's caseworker, Catholic Community Services provider as well as the child's Social Worker's. Opposed to fighting Mercy apartments to have the child in Nami's daily care or allowing him to be raised around racial tensions the child no longer lives here.
