Relatively efficient, staff organized and helpful. My only difficulty was being able to hear the person working with me.

Our local SS office is closed ''due to the pandemic.'' The phone service is h.o.r.r.i.b.l.e due to stupid robots not enough personnel to answer the phone.

Customer service with Jill was amazing. Super tricky process of figuring out where my information went and why things hadn't been processed yet. She told me that I ended up sending them to the wrong office and gave me steps moving forward. Pretty decently short phone wait time and she was incredibly helpful. She came to a dead end a few times but got in touch with another person for help and kept looking until we figured out what went wrong. Could not recommend more! Thanks again for the help Jill!!

I have made multiple phone calls requesting the documentation I need to submit to have my child's social security card reissued. Each time I am told something different. I have submitted the documentation via USPS (since they won't let you come in to the office) three different times. Each time it is rejected because they need to see originals and not copies. How? How am I supposed to accomplish that when I am not allowed in the office for an in-person appointment. So frustrating!

I can't get help with my Medicare B and I want to meet with someone. Is it better to walk in?
You call the main number and wait on hold for over an hour or you can just walk in and wait about the same amount of time. Going in is faster because appointments are 6 weeks out even though you’ll be seen if you walk in any day.
What are the office hours?
No you don't but if you walk in you will probably be sitting at least an hour
No
You need to make an appointment by phone.
Call ssa office
As long as you have all the documents, it will not take more than 15 minutes.
I would say about an hour 😎
No
Call social security number schedule appointment on the phone and go in for a appt at local social security place
It's best to go online to ssa.gov/medicare
I'm guessing so. They probably will need the marriage certificate and current ID.
You don't have to make an appt. They take walk-ins. Best time to go is 30 min before they open and wait outside or wait until 5-10 min before they close. If you arrive before they close, they have to let you in.
No. You take a number and wait.
They look at your certified copy. Then they give it back to you. Do make sure that your copy is the original or a certified copy, or they will not accept it. it should clearly show that you have recorded the marriage with the county after your ceremony.
I believe so but I'd suggest calling them first and maybe you can pay by phone. Here's a link https://www.medicare.gov/your-medicare-costs/pay-part-a-part-b-premiums
You could also go 30 minutes before they open so you're one of the first or wait until like 5 minutes before closing. They have to let you in if you make it before close and most people have already filed out.
You can either create an account with them online and change it there or call the 800 number. Or go into an office.
Heres a link. https://faq.ssa.gov/en-us/Topic/article/KA-01711 There should be a form online for that. Or you could call them to check. Sorry, don't have more info for you!
If you go inside, theres one in the door to the back offices but not one outside.
You can order one there but I think it takes time to get in the mail. I could be wrong.
You can do that online or in the office.
I believe so but you'd have to Google it or look through the SSA website
Usually if you're on social security they automatically get you part A. Otherwise, you'd need to call them directly or go into an office to find out how.
You'd have to go online or call them directly to find out.
The wait to apply in person or how long does it take to get benefits? The office wait varies depending on the day and time but a minimum 30 min up to 2 hours is about as close as I can say
It's complicated. If you don't want to sign up when eligible, you have to be covered by an employer sponsored plan continuously or they will fine you for not getting part B when first eligible. Look at the SSA website for all details.
You need a form of ID, proving your citizenship and residence (outlined on the application form, SS-5). NOTE: They do not accept temporary ID's for this.
Depends on if your approved or not as a general rule in my experience expect to get a denial the first time you file an application, be more hopeful the 2nd time but still expect a denial all told, I've known 3 people whom died "waiting" for their benefits to "start". I was placed on social security as a kiddo
