The kitchen and the bathrooms are the two places that will give you the biggest bang for your buck. However, I would always advise that you meet with a real estate agent first to help you determine if the changes will help you reach your goals.
I would start by decluttering! We all end up with so much "stuff" in our home that we don't need! Take one room at a time and begin boxing up anything you are not going to need in the next few months, throw away what you can, and organize the closets and under cabinets. I hope this helps!
