If I could rate zero, I would. For someone on the verge of suicide, I wouldnโt call this place for help. The individuals answering the phones here are insensitive and demeaning. If you dislike your occupation so much, find a new one. You are dealing with the lives of human beings. I called to schedule an assessment and the guy answering said โwe donโt schedule anythingโ when the Green Oaks website has multiple links to do so. I was told to walk in and even then, they may not be able to help. Furthermore, I was told that in order to receive help, I needed to bring money or an insurance card. Top notch treatment here ๐๐๐

Super disappointed and angry about how my family member was treated at this facility. I work in the mental health field and I have even worked at facilities like this. I told them my father was sensitive to medication upon his entry to this facility, while he was detoxing they put him on a medication that he has previously had poor reactions to in the past. This significantly worsened his detox, despite me calling daily to let nurses and providers know of this allergy they kept him on leading to possible cognitive damage, hallucinations, and mania for 4 days longer than this medication was needed. While in the ICU his phone was stolen, somehow he was supposed to be in control of his belongings while sedated and hallucinating? There was poor communication through his entire stay, despite asking for multiple meetings through the patient advocate and his case manager, I never was able to speak/communicate with his doctor. My family member was put on a hold due to trying to leave against medical advice, which I very much understand, but I was only made aware of this hold (caused by the medication he had a reaction to) because I called the nurse for an update. My family member was given court documents and legal representation without letting family members on the outside know and be able to provide support. Despite our family offering different treatment options for substance abuse and the facility stalled for four days ($$$$$$$) after he cleared up he left with no discharge planning, no follow up appointments and a recommendation to the Green Oaks PHP program (haha). I work in the field, these times are tough, and for profit hospitals continue to burn out their staff leading to poor quality of care, poor communication, and unethical behavior. Take care of your employees and in turn they will have the energy to take care of their patients. If you want your loved one to start treatment at a facility with a sense of hope and a glimmer of respect then you should probably steer clear.

This was my first hospitalization and I was very scared at first but then Garrett and Evan where very patient with me and made me feel safe. Also the night techs on unit 7 was awesome. And Martinez was strict but also cool. I absolutely loved Rochelle sheโs the one who helped me into Nexus. The only thing I would change is the lack of being able to have sweet tea and or Carbonated beverages. Also it seemed as if you had a few nurses that didnโt understand PRNโs and actually refused me agitation medicine until I had a full-blown panic attack. Other than that I give this place and the whole staff on unit 7 five stars. Also Casey in Linden were awesome.

My daughter was having a severe panic attack with suicidal ideation. We took her to Medical City ER (Green Oaks apparently doesn't have its own ER) with the hope of getting her seen by someone at Green Oaks. But, we were told that there were no beds ... they were "at capacity" and we might be able to see someone after 45 minutes. So, we waited 45 minutes in the packed waiting room ... but still no care, so my daughter decided that she wanted to go home, because sitting in that crowded waiting room was making her more anxious. So, we left without her ever being admitted or seeing a caregiver. Then, a few days ago, I get a bill from Medical City for $490.00. Obviously, I'm not going to pay this and I will never set foot in that place again. After thinking about it, I have never had a good experience at Medical City. It's a third-rate operation with third-rate staff and poor administration. It's really a shame that a city as large and wealthy as Dallas doesn't have more mental care facilities, especially for young people.

They stole my diamond ring.
You can call the hospital and state โI understand I need a patient code to see if someone is thereโ. Can you please take my name and number, and if this person (give them the name) is there, can you please have them call me. If your loved one is there, they will make sure he/she receives your message. If itโs an emergency, for example, if you need to notify the hospital team about some important information about your loved one; for example, if they are on certain medications, etc., please feel free follow the steps above stating the purpose of your call. Hope this helps. Sorry for any typos. And I hope you find your loved one.
Not sure about evaluation, but as a past patient I can confirm it's one of the worst places you could goto for help. I only went because of an involuntary psychiatric hold. If you'd like help for you, or a loved one, please do not send them to Green Oaks, or they may possibly come out worse and morally beaten down more than they had before entering.
I don't think age matters because I know a 14 year old that was sent there. But I don't trust the place at all.
Medical City Green Oaks provides help for everyone, no matter what language you speak.
Unfortunately we are not State Funded. Depending on where your friend lives will depend on the services available. For example, Dallas county residents would contact the North Texas Behavioral Health Authority, or a Collin county resident contact LifePath. Hope this helps.
NO. IT'S A BAD PLACE
This is not usually done, however we must take the age of the patient into consideration. There is only one adolescent unit most of the time.. otherwise If they know each other they most likely will be place on separate units. Gender has nothing to do with it. Men and Women are on the same units.
Hi there. Thanks for your note and great questions. Medical City Green Oaks overall ranked at the 95th percentile for patient satisfaction based on our Press Ganey scores. The positive psychiatric hospital experience are usually not shared; since this type of experience is very personal and individualized. If you dig a little deeper, you will see some wonderful reviews. We've been helping North Texans for well over 30 years and during these challenging times, our specialized staff and physicians are the true heroes and we could not be prouder. it is very important that anyone who has a concern regarding their loved one or if a family member or friend has a concern, there is always someone to talk too; whether it is our Patient Advocate, House Supervisor, Program Director; there is always someone you can talk too. Thanks again for writing. Stay safe.
By the locks of all these reviews... It'll only make your depression worse ๐

it is a smoke free facility.
If they threatened themselves or anyone call 911, they used to keep them 72 hours. My nephew had to go there, I was pleased at the outcome
