Very poor hours. Nonresponsive to questions or suggestions. Could be a gem but misses the mark. They replied that that the increased hours in 2021 but missed revealing how they slashed hours in 2020. Current hours are still way below pre pandemic hours. Plus, honestly, it took them maybe 6 months to figure out how to hand books out the window? McDonalds and every fast food place in town has been doing it for years. Many restaurants shifted to take out immediately during the pandemic. The library simply shut down. I certainly don't need to argue with the library system (I am a huge fan and user of libraries) but they can do a far better job in using our tax dollars to serve the public.

Daycare shelter for homeless people. There I said it. Probably one of the first libraries where the owner doesn't sit through and read and reply to every review.

We love this library. It is very modern and clean, bright with lots of windows and natural light. They have many fun activities throughout the week for young children in Mandarin. There are many quiet nooks for private reading and study. The staff is really helpful and friendly. There Is plenty of parking downstairs in the garage and a bus stop just out front. It is in a safe, convenient location.

As of today (July 29, 2020) The book drop hours for the Newcastle library are Wednesday and Friday, from 10am-1pm. These hours are subject to change. Please visit our website https://kcls.org/curbside/ to find the most up-to-date information before your next trip to the library.
There may be a slight fee (35 cents to a dollar fee) to send a fax, but yes they can help with that request.
Great question, we have an easy to read chart with all the details on our website. https://kcls.org/faq/borrowing/#checkouts-holds
There's a small conference room that seats 6 which you can reserve for 2 hours, twice a week, up to one week in advance. There's also a large meeting room which groups can reserve online once a month.
This library does cater to young children by proving activities and certain lectures for all sorts of groups. If you talk with a librarian you can ask for a schedule of events at this location.
Not usually open on major holidays including new years.
