I don’t know about your experience but I can talk about me and my boyfriend He wen’t to the Meadows for alcoholism and I can tell my boyfriend came back home so different. Yet the place is nice and probably they Don’t let them have contact with their family very often but it’s for a reason. I’m so happy for everything they did for him there. He always said the staff was very friendly

The Meadows Texas does not use the Meadows model and does not treat for truma. P.T.S.D. or any other underlying problems. There were no planed activities other than most of the afternoon was spent at the gym. It is understaffed and more time is left up to group therapy. There was no dietitian or personal trainers at this facility. One on one therapy is limited to once a week if you're lucky. Due COVID there was no family visitation and phone calls are limited to three times a week for ten minutes only. The food was good and the cafeteria staff were excellent. Rooms were clean but no private rooms. I would not recommend this facility to anyone seeking treatment for anything other than alcohol addiction.

My loved one is not allowed to video chat with his/her children (currently with me). I asked the director, Ron Arrington if he could give me a valid reason why this wouldn't be "allowed," especially since not allowing family visits (covid), and he could not provide one. He did say that there are lots of families managing loved ones being gone and they deal with it. In other words, voluntary military duty, voluntary crime resulting in prison time, etc. If you'd like a month long stay at the Hanoi Hilton, this is your place. It remains to be see if their treatment will be effective. I can tell you though don't be expected to be treated like a human.
