Bishops Cuts/Color

I had an absolutely MESSED UP haircut, had a breakdown, then went to Bishops to get it fixed. Shea was so sweet and fun to talk to, they understood exactly what I was hoping to get and worked with me to create a haircut that was not only damage control, but that I ended up absolutely loving. Needless to say, I will be going back there for all of my future haircuts.

LOL editing down to one star. They reached out to “make things right”. But then said I was “outside of the 7 day grace period”— they didn’t respond to my review until Day 6 and I was on vacation so I couldn’t reply back sooner? (And also I had no clue about this mythical grace period in the first place.) So much for making things right. Don’t go to this chain, go somewhere that will actually do what you ask for if you’re paying hundreds of dollars for a service. I had three services done here over two sessions. Giving two stars for the combined sessions, though I’m tempted to give one star just for how upset I am from the coloring. Haircut: was fine, it was a super easy request and took about 15 mins if that, so I’d be shocked if anyone could mess it up. Deep conditioning - waste of money, my hair didn’t look or feel any different after versus what I normally see when I condition at home, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Color - now here’s the MAJOR problem. I did a color consultation when I had my cut, and did the color one week later. I showed pictures of what I wanted. I explained carefully. It was the first time I’ve ever had my hair dyed. I paid $165 + tip + $13 in parking, and I regret every penny. Not even REMOTELY what I asked for. I’ve attached pics of what I wanted vs what I got. I wanted red (but a bit more natural colored) highlights, at the ends of my hair. I explained I didn’t want anything near the roots because my hair grows so fast that I’d have a weird stripe within a week or two. The stylist explained the color might be a bit less bright than in the pics, but seemed to understand what I was asking for. So why is my hair orange on top and nothing on the bottom? I guess it’s what the stylist called “subtle” LOL… Another stylist even came over at one point and was like “oh yeah it’s super subtle” which felt pretty obviously code for “I don’t see any difference”. I felt obligated to “grin and bear it” after because what was the alternative… to throw a tantrum? But I had showed the stylist pictures of what I wanted, and explained the color I wanted. And what I got is… honestly so subtle that you can barely see it, except this weird orange at the roots. For almost $200 hahaha what an epic mistake. And then the stylist kept pushing extra services like styling, insisting that “the only way to see the color” on the bottom would be if he styled it… like, sorry, but if you can’t see the color without fancy (and $$) curling and styling then what did I just pay $165 for? Overall I just feel cheated, this is the first time I’ve ever had my hair dyed and it’s not even close to what I had in mind. I guess I’m wearing a hat to my family reunion next week, and then after I’ll try to find another business to fix this weird orange and give me what I actually asked for. Very disappointing experience overall.

Not much hair left on my head keeps my needs simple. And easy to buzz. I found Bishops to be a fine, clean and nice inside. Wala was personable and professional. Reckon I’ll be back in 5-6 weeks.

This is the best experience I’ve had with a hair stylist. Tain Schroeder is exceptional at color and cuts. She had to fix a previous bad haircut and color I received from another hair stylist. I would not go anywhere else from here on out. Thank you for the excellent services and your professionalism I experienced.
