Really amazing place to take the kids and adults will enjoy it too! The quesidilla was AMAZING! One of the best I have had in a long time! Spend the extra to do the secret agent activity, recommended for 6+, but my 5 y.o. and I really enjoyed doing it together!

We visited this few days before Halloween and the experience was great. With decoration to sets of activities for children, our kids loved it and burned lots of calories. Highly recommend for those with kids and specially get a year membership.

Fun 👍

Amazing fun for my 6 and 10 year old. Souvenirs fair priced and the employees joined the fun

When our family visited last December, they had a well thought-out play area for toddlers at the top floor, with padded floors and toys. Our 2-y.o. daughter had a wonderful time and did not want to leave, until she saw more activities on the ground floor, with pretend restaurant and grocery store, which she loved it even more. Keep in mind that as you move down the floors, appropriate age tend to go up. We would strongly recommend.
Everything! Go to the second floor and just bring sanitizer wipes! Relax! At that age they just need structure, empathy, and compassion from parents who have not learned what they yet can ...Love! Huge safe hug the child to reassure them and be easy! Sometimes life is hard! Be a light in dark places and the child will know the Truth!
$12 per adult, $6 for ages 1-12 and free for children under a year of age.
It's about $12. You can check the website for more information. I believe there are some free hours on Thursdays.
Barnaby's is really good and easy walking distance.
Yes, Amber! You can visit us any day we are open. We are usually closed on Mondays but will be open on Monday, March 11 for Spring Break! Hope to see you soon!
Go next door to Health Museum which is free 3 - 5 pm on Thursday and when it closes head across the street to the Children's Museum from 5 - 8 pm for a great crowded time!
Maybe because they accept cards
The tickets go on sale for the following week each Monday at 9 am.
Yes the entry fee is waived on Thursdays. I believe childrens entry is 12$ and 15$ for adults
Free for up to 6 people with proper identification.
There is a toddler zone on the 2nd floor. It is a gated area. No children older than 36 months allowed in the gated area. There is a nice area near a wall, surrounded by bumpers, with baby toys for the youngest ones.
Yes two block down is the Japanese garden(I think that is the name) which has free parking.
I would assume it's okay.
To the best of my knowledge yes
Hi Angel! Card holders must present their award letter for the current month they are using the card, and their valid state issued photo ID. The Lone Star Card holder of record must be present to gain admission. It allows free admission for up to 6 individuals receiving TANF, SNAP and WIC benefits. Hope this helps!
$12.00 per person ... If you arw going more than once I recommend the membership it pays off ...
Yes, it'll be crowded. But, I'd say it is still worth the trip!
I recommend free family nights on Thursdays. There is free street parking in some areas near by.
$150 for a family of 4, $170 for 6, $220 for 8
Sure can. The online “reserve a time” thing doesn’t actually mean anything. Probably a feature leftover from Covid.
Yes they are
There is paid parking directly across from the museum, very convenient if you don't want to walk. Free parking is available at Montgomery gardens for 3 or 4 hrs. From the gardens it is a 3 min walk ( 1 block) to the museum.
Yes they should be unless it's a weather related issue.
I think normally there is an exhibit dedicated specifically for toddlers but it was closed both times we went. So, we just let our son run wild with his three older sisters; he still had a ball! But I don't think I would personally pay regular price (an adult's ticket price) for him to go if he were by himself.
Hi Mariana! We open on June 8. We are waiting for you!
Hello, Luis! The Museum is currently closed. We are planning to reopen in June.
Hi Tatiana! We are still closed but we look forward to welcoming you in June!
Hi, Luis! The Museum is temporarily closed. We hope to reopen Summer 2021. Hope to see everyone soon!
Yes they can however the children's museum is closed at least until next year....
Hello queen! The museum is temporarily closed. We hope to open in 2021. Follow us on social media and visit our website for more information.
Hello melani! If there are vaccinations today outside the museum "self-service" or "drive-thru" in English. You must make an appointment with Texas Children's in order to participate. Please call (832)824-6788 to reserve. Everyone inside the car must bring a mask to be treated.
I don't think they have it.
There is handicapped parking located within the parking structure that is across the street from the museum. The two-story parking structure is only designated for the Children's Museum however there is a fee per hour.
Absolutely. Legos, robots, a play room that's 3 levels. Plenty of things for children of all ages
Yes there is.
Hi, Melinda! We're open today (Dec. 26) until 8 p.m.
Not allowed We ask visitors to not bring outside food into the Museum. You may choose from a healthy and varied selection of food items in our full-service Fresh Cafe. Please do not eat in the exhibit galleries. There are plenty of tables at the Fresh Cafe, alongside Kids’ Hall and outside at the picnic tables. The Fresh Cafe offers a number of dining choices, hand-made with fresh ingredients and preservative-free breads: Hamburgers, cheeseburgers and veggie burgers. Corn dogs, hot dogs, pizza and grilled cheese sandwiches. Grilled chicken Cesar salad, chef salad and fruit salad. https://www.cmhouston.org/faq
If their website says Closed on monday then believe that, not some other source.
Hi Blaca! We are about 23 miles (37 km) south of the Bush airport. It's about 30-45 minutes by car.
Depends at what time you go.
Hi, Sandra! We do not allow outside food into the Museum but we do have a Cafe with plenty of food options! https://www.cmhouston.org/fresh-cafe
Hi, Cristina! Yes, we are open until 3 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
Children 1+ and adults are $12 per person. Look forward to welcoming you soon!
You can go to their website listed on their google maps page which is probably where you just were.
Yes it's a great place to take young kids!
If you made a birthday reservation at the Museum, if you can bring your cake! If the Museum is going to enter as a visitor without an event, we do not allow outside food. If you have more questions about our birthday parties, visit: https://www.cmhouston.org/birthdays
Just go up to the front like you normally would and let them know. From there you go up the elevator to a room near the toddler's area 👍
I would recommend waiting, but the child will still have fun
I am not sure at what time exactly but yes thrusday is free!
The price of admission is $12 per person. https://www.cmhouston.org/hours-and-prices
Hi, Lindsay! We ask visitors to not bring outside food into the Museum. We have a variety of selections from burgers, salads, snacks and more at our full-service Fresh Cafe. There are plenty of tables in the main Kids' Hall and outside at the picnic tables. https://www.cmhouston.org/fresh-cafe
In the Tot Spot, they are very particular and only let children under 3 in. This makes it difficult to entertain other children exactly 3 or older unless supervision of the kids can split up. I understand why they do it (to keep the littles from being run over), but it's not very practical from family outings or group playdates.
Yes
Yes, there is something to do in every room, plus the water outside. You can go at your own pace
$12 for above 1 year 9f age. Free for above 1 year of age
If you want to do everything, it's an all day thing. It's not that big, bit every room has something for the kids to do so it kills time
Hi, Vicky! The number of people you can bring depends on your Membership level. Achiever Level admits up to 4 people, Thinker Level admits up to 6 people, and Adventurer Level admits up to 8 people. Here's a link to our Membership page for your reference: https://www.cmhouston.org/membership

You can bring your lunch but there's a place outside you can go or just eat there at the cafe there.
They would enjoy it very much. My granddaughter is 19 mos and we spent our time in the upstairs area for kids her age. My other grandkids spent there time enjoying the rest of the place. So you will need help or another person to help.
$ 12.00 per person $ 11.00 Seniors 65 years and up, children 1 year free
Hi, Kimberly! WIC recipients get in free (up to 6 people) with the award letter of the current month (March 2019) and valid ID. The person awarded must be present to redeem.
You can be any age to go there. But it depend on the 14 year old. A lot of their attraction is for younger kids to me
Hi, Jessica! Online tickets can be used up to a year after the purchase date. Hope to see you soon!
If you're going to go more than twice a year, consider getting a family membership (which will be cheaper in the long run & included one free parking pass). There are different levels, depending on how many people are in your family. You can also assign non-family members as part of the pack, but again check each level's requirements.
well we went on a field trip with the school. There fore parking was not a problem
The simple truth I do not want to lie. You should visit their website.
Hello Yuritzi! If we are open today, February 14, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Admission is free of 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. We hope to see you here!
Hi, Abby! The Museum is absolutely free for everyone on Thursdays from 5 to 8 p.m. Hope to see you here!
Hi Guadalupe! Free vaccinations happen every second Thursday of the month during Free Family Night through May. Here's the link for more info: https://www.cmhouston.org/event/free-vaccinations
Hi S. Marie! Unfortunately, your group MUST include a child. Adults visiting without children are not permitted entry due to safety reasons.
Yes... you can
Its better to buy city pass . Its include 5 locations and you save 51% then original individual prices. Goto city pass houston
And
I agree with Linda and Pam. Go during the week. Pack a lunch or go to Chick-fil-A. Nice restaurants are 3 minutes away in the Village behind Rice University off of Kirby.
What a great opportunity. I would think that the operator could put you in touch with one of the Directors who over sees the Art Department.
Hi Clarisol! Yes, S.E.C.R.E.T. is available today and Friday!
Hi Deejay. Our Dragons & Fairies: Viet Nam through Folktales exhibit is included with our $12 admission price. For more information about the exhibit, visit: https://www.cmhouston.org/dragonsfairies
Regular price but it might help if you get a groupon to get a discount
I have no idea, I used cash.
Weekends are when CMH is most packed. I would recommend going in the week.
No, although free parking can be found adjacent to the museam. Usually when looking for free parking you will add a 2-5 minute walk to you visit. Witch in my opinion is well worth it.
Yes it's on Thursday nights And it's plenty of time to let them burn out.
Hi Mahdi! General admission is $12 for adults and children ages 1 and older. https://www.cmhouston.org/hours
Yes it's a good age for 10 year olds!
Hi Courtney! Yes, we can scan your cell phone. See you soon!
They also have free dates check the website for dates and times but non formally offhand thu after 5 i believe but do check
It is the same membership for both of the museums
Its free. Just bring your award letter. And thats at any time.
It's a lot better than it used to be. There is a market, I believe called kidtropolis where the kids go to bank with their own ATM cards & "money". They can work it shop at heb. They can work it do transactions at bank of America. There is a little restaurant that they can work at... All of these jobs they earn a check that they take to the bank. There is a climbing thing that they go up and through tight spaces... It covers 3 floors. There is an obstacle course that they wear a harness & do tight rope walking on. There is a lot of fun stuff for the kids there now. My kids were entertained for a few hours. Then there is outside water play & eating. So... It's cool.
There is no age limit, but i think up to 12 might find it entertaining
Yes! We still have Free Family Night on Thursdays. Hope to see you here!
No but I recommend you do because there's a lot of kids running around
Best thing is to look at the website
No, across the street was paid parking. It seemed to be the most convenient
Not sure, you can check it online also you may buy a city pass
If you are planning to visit other places as well, its better to get citypass, it would work out cheaper
Children over 1 and adults and $12 per person. My sister visited from another state and showed her science museum membership card and they let up to 5 people in our group in for free. So thats an option also. My opinion it was worth the money, there was so much to do for the kids
The children's train is located in Hermann Park, and the entrance is just outside the main Zoo entrance. The train runs all around Hermann Park and has several spots where you can get off and enjoy the park for a while before getting back on. The museum is not too far of a walk from Hermann Park, but in the Houston summer heat distance is relative. In case you might have been referring to the Metro Light Rail train it does run through this area and has a stop not far from the Children's Museum.
Water play are under maintenance and they don't have a date when this will be open. Older kids can enjoy the science, aero dynamics, build items, challenging zip lines and Kidropolis.
Hi, Amber! Yes, admission is free for Bank of America cardholders the first FULL weekend of the month. Offer only valid for the cardholder. Must show valid Bank of America card.
$12. It's totally worth getting the family membership though. Pays for itself if you go more than 2 or 3 times in a year.
Hi Jesus! As Nathan shared from our website, we allow general free admission for up to 6 individuals receiving TANF, SNAP and WIC benefits. Card holders must present their award letter for the current month they are using the card, and their valid state issued photo ID. The Lone Star Card holder of record must be present to gain admission.
West side of the building there is a two story parking. Around $8 per stay. Very Convenient. They use to close at 6, but thursdays they have free entrance from 5 to 8.
I have seen different things to do in the past 6 months, but overall it's the same. Yet, still fun for the kids...
Also $11 for seniors (65+) and active military with ID. $2 off if you go after 5. Worth noting that parking at the neighboring garage is not free. $9 for 3+ hours. $8 for 2 hours.
Prices range from $135 to $1,000. Each level has it's own perks. From discounted parking, to bringing people along for free.
First Tuesday of each month, from September to May, from noon until closing.
Yes, you have to show your wic benefit paper along with your ID
I think you may be able to get in like that but id call up there to confirm. Although thursdays are free(:
Per their website: Adults/Children (Ages 1+): $12.00 per person So no. Only under 1.
They haven't announced it yet. Sign up for their program updates on their website. You'll get weekly updates about everything.
I think your paper id would be okay but i second the calling up there to find out for sure.
The parking structure is $10 per car but there is street parking available
WIC card n ID
They are free after 5pm on Thursdays. They are free if you have WIC as well.
Up to 3 years in the tot spot upstairs, and definitely some cool stuff all around they might like. Shopping in the store, play restaurants, etc. Definitely good stuff for pretty much any age
The first weekend of each month if you have a Bank of America credit or debit card.
I don't have my award letter... can I print it offline or show them using by phone ?
There is plenty for him to enjoy! I think you'd be surprised on how diverse the ppl are. We enjoy our visit every time. Plenty of learning...
$12 for everyone and $11 for seniors. Infants free. But Thursdays after 5pm it's free but it does get packed.
Monday closed. Tuesday to Saturday 10 to 6 & Sundays 12 to 6 Thursday 10 to 8.
I bought my ticket through Groupon.. You can also purchase tickets at the door. If you look at their website it will tell you the costs of tickets for adults and kiddos.
Go early before the place gets crowded. Check Google to see peak times and avoid those if you want your kids to be able to enjoy more of the museum.
They are pretty flexible with coupons in general. Scanned/app or printed does not matter
Yes they do. I bought a Groupon before walking in and they took it.
$12.00 kids and adults.
no
No, HEB is not at this museum. I can't remember the grocery store sponsoring it or if there was one. My grandson didn't want to go in there. I can tell you Bank of America was there with a banking center and ATM
Thursday
5-8pm
There is street parking if you get there early. It's metered and cheaper than the garage for a few hours.
10-6 unless hours are affected by labor day
Not sure after the storm, i would try giving them a call
yes
