Clayton Library was an incredible experience for me! It allowed me to connect the dots to my long lost grandparents.

Great staff the best way to find your family history no matter where I'll be coming back

Came in the afternoon to get out of the heat and finish some work. It was a very chill and relaxing environment. There are plenty of tables to sit at and the staff greeted me as I walked in. Felt very welcome and will certainly be coming back again!

I have been doing genealogy since 1999 and I have gone to many cities to do my research and gone to their libraries. The Clayton library is one of the easiest to research because they have everything divided out by state county and city. You don’t have to know the Dewey decimal system. It’s really a fantastic library to do your research in. Plus they have a very large collection of family history books. The microfiche is very user-friendly.

Large parking lot. FREE
Can you go in now to do research?
The sidewalks have ramps and there is an elevator. However, the library is not equipped with automatic doors.
Sometimes there are talks on African American ancestry. But there are two librarians who are experts in this field. Call the library for details.
This is a public library that holds a vast collection of geneological and historical information. Most of the books are for use in the library and cannot be checked out. They have limited hours so check before you go.
