Dean and John are super knowledgeable and keep the entire night entertaining. I highly recommend taking a class. I would go in Sept/Oct for a chance to see Saturn and possibly Jupiter.

My grandkids and I enjoyed some moon gazing this week. The observatory held a special event where local star gazers set up their personal telescopes to gaze at the stars sun moon. The eve was well attended. I’m guessing over 200 visitors? They provided tours of the 2 scopes and there were special Star Wars guests in attendance. It was a nice event to get the grand kids introduced to star gazing.

We went for the late night date night event and it was amazing! The host, Dean Regas was amazing, incredibly knowledgeable and overall fantastic. It was a great tour even though we had cloudy skies and couldn't look through the telescopes. Highly highly recommend, regardless of the weather you'll have a good time.

If the sky is clear, solar telescopes are set up during the history tour on the fourth Sunday of each month, 1-4 PM. Sun-specific programs are also offered throughout the summer months.
If the sky is clear enough and you are there for an Astronomy Night or a special event that includes viewing.
They have events but they are usually not open late enough to view a meteor showers
"Morning star" is used as a term for Venus, Surius, and or Mercury. You'd have to be more specific on what heavenly body you are referencing. You could then determine the details and viewability. Wikipedia would be a good place to start.
We had quite a few copies for sale on Saturday but we sold out of them. I'm assuming they will get more as his older book is for sale.
There IS a public open-house tonight (Veteran's Day) from 7-11 PM. Come on out if you can! Also, history tours will be held tomorrow (Sunday) afternoon from 1-4 PM.
