This is my favorite canoe livery. They cover the best potion of the river for paddling. It is the last canoe livery along the river as south of it gets dangerous. The staff is always knowledgeable and friendly. It is a must stop for paddlers and people looking for a great outdoor activity.
Heavy Metal Church
Had one of the best group canoe and kayak trips I've ever had at this location! Family owned and they will go the extra mile to make you comfortable and happy! Heavy Metal Church had such a great time we are planning on going three times a year now on their amazing 11 mile adventure!

Had an awesome time here. A van took us out to our drop spot and did all the kayak transport. River moves at a nice pace so it was easy to just float and enjoy it.

Great place to kayak

They have a few different lengths. They take you up river and you paddle back.
They say there are two separate "rapids" areas that you go through on the 8-mile but, they are very easy. Maybe it depends on the weather and the heighth of the water. It wasn't bad at all when my son and I went. You definitely will want two people rowing in your canoe if you haven't done a lot of rowing. That will definitely help get through the "rapids" areas.
See other people with young kids life vests available
Unfortunately, we no longer allow pets. We love them but due to a previous incident , we can no longer allow them. Sorry.
Two person
Is the tandem kayak one person or two person?
Primitive camping
But don't let the time deter you. Its still a great place to tube with water that actually moves unlike other places ive tuned where the water flows so slow you are basically moving by your own power.
Alcohol beverages are not permitted on any Ohio waterways, with that said we also dont check coolers unless you give us obvious signs. For example if we hear glass bottles clicking together, we will check mostly because we dont allow glass on the river.
Comparable to all canoeing and kayaking, 25-45 depending on what you choose to do.
Currently the river high and there are a couple log jams we will have to cut out before boats can be sent out
3 mile is $35, 8 mile is $40, 11 mile is $45 for a canoe, this information can be found on Mad River Adventures Facebook page.
