During relocation of dumpster, subcontractor covered my door and windows with mud, management has been notified twice and has done nothing. This type of treatment and the roaches make this a property I cannot recommend.

I have lived at Willow Lake Apartments for over 4 years. There have been three different property managers here since I first moved in. The current manager, Jenny, is very different from the previous manager, Jennifer. While past management was often difficult and to deal with, the new manager is friendly and helpful. A lot of people talk about them being money hungry and strict about payments, that is not the fault of the on site staff, they are just following the instructions of their employer, Tecton. Yes, it's unusual to only have til the 3rd of the month to pay rent, but that is written in the lease and the penalties are clearly stated in the lease. While it would be nice if they made exceptions in certain circumstances, the on site management is just doing what their employer is requiring them to do. The on site office is open 7 days a week. As far as maintenance and the property. The buildings were completely re-sided, re-roofed and painted a couple of years ago. The pool is well maintained and the grounds are maintained nicely. Over the years I have had to make multiple service requests for things from a leaky faucet to a broken garbage disposal, an oven thermostat that burned out and a dishwasher that broke. The maintenance crew have responded to my request and have fixed the issue generally within 24 hours of my request, sometimes a couple of days due to them needing to order special parts to fix the problem. They give you the option to only enter the apartment if you are home, which can delay the maintenance reques The few negative thing that I would say about the complex is: >There are very very few visitor parking spaces so friends often have to park on the street which is not very convenient. >The laundry room really needs to be upgraded. At one point, nearly all the machines were not working. The current manager seems to be keeping them maintained on a more regular basis. The laundry room is used heavily due to the number of units in the complex. You have to load money onto a special card to use the machines, and the machine is in the office. So remember to load your card before the office closes. >There have been issues with the after office hours security company that is a contracted provider. They have locked my things in the laundry room 30 to 45 minutes before the laundry room is supposed to close. There is a number to call the security company. They don't answer the phone and don't call back if you leave a message. On various occasions, they've questioned friends that were coming to visit me. My friends have told me they felt security approached them and questioned them in a harassing manner. Current management is aware of the issues and is trying to resolve them. The apartments are conveniently located. Safeway, Papa Murphy's, Bartell Drugs, a 24 hour car wash, two auto parts chain stores and a couple of restaurants (including iHop), hotels and small local businesses are within half a mile in either direction on International Boulevard between S 200th and S 216th Streets. Angle Lake Light rail station is a 10 minute walk away and the Rapid Ride A line is just at the end of the road, just a few minute walk. Madrona Elementary school only four blocks away. There are studio, one and two bedroom units. Floor plans vary as do the rent amounts. Overall I have been happy living here. Are there things that aren't perfect, yes. The complex is a little older and there are maintenance issues associated with the age of the buildings. But they have made good improvements to the buildings over the past couple of years and I have been happy with the maintenance team and their quick turnaround with issues I've had. The current manager is a very refreshing change from previous managers and has been helpful and friendly even when having to follow the strict and unbending mandates that their employer has instructed them to follow. There is going to be some roadway changes nearby that will affect parts of the complex, but the time line of those changes are not yet known.

This place is terrible. Firstly, they don't return deposits. Secondly, there are car thefts and burglaries on a nearly biweekly basis because they are too cheap to install security cameras. There are even cases of vagrants breaking into empty units and living there and then starting to distribute drugs from the premises. This happened until the apartment finally decided to take the reports from neighboring tenants seriously, but that took a few months to happen. Despite all this money which should be invested in the property, they do certainly stay on top of issuing notices to vacate for anything they feel they can, despite not really being able to do anything. It's a scare tactic. More so, it's an intimidation tactic. You will fit in great here if you are a drug addict or drug dealer. People with families or people not wishing to expose themselves to crime on a daily basis should really reconsider calling this place a home. I guarantee that you will regret doing so. Consider yourself warned.

Some buildings do have an infestation. They were fumigating the buildings but they actually only let off bug bombs instead. So yes, unfortunately some buildings still are.
