Such a nice spot! You see all walks of life there and they're all very friendly. Drinks are cheap (go easy on it) and the staff are very nice. Pool table in the front and concert in the back - usually it's $12 for the latter.

If this is a question about Cole's bar, they have a pretty decent beer selection that is on the low end for a hipster music venue bar. As for Old Style, it's a cheap American Adjunct Lager found in the Chicago area. It's a Chicago tradition evocative of blue collar neighborhood dive bars. Like other beers in this style, it's not meant to impress anyone, it's meant to be a cheap way to drink. The beer itself is a darker yellow than others if it's type. It's head disperses quickly when poured. It smells very very sweet like fruit, corn, sugar. The smell is pleasant. The taste is not notable. Lots of corn with a light touch of hops like most adjunct lagers. I put it on par with Coors in quality. If you want cheap American lager and this one wasn't for you, perhaps try a Pabst Blue Ribbon next time. Better yet, I suggest asking the bartender for a recommendation. They always steer me to something I'm in the mood for.
