Can i bring all my documents to obtain the visa without an appointment ?
Form V.2013 along with a photo, proof of legal stay, your airline ticket and hotel reservations OR an invitation letter with name, age, address, gender, birthdate (all of you and the inviter), general idea of the itinerary with a picture of the inviter's ID. You'll also need your passport

does anyone know if they are currently processing work visas to china?
Skyler Howdeshell | Nov 3, 2020
Morgan VonSprecken | Nov 3, 2020
They will process a work Visa but you have to have the following. Your invitation letter from company, a (PU) letter from the provincial government in China. Once you have these letters email the consulate and request an appointment. You have to have an appointment. They normally will not take walk ins at the consulate because of Covid protocol.
Is rapid test for covid ok for travel to China
LINDA LIM | Nov 3, 2020
Melissa Warehall | Nov 3, 2020
I've been told you need a negative result within 72 hours of travel. Don't know if type of test matters. I'm still waiting for a visa appointment.
Lisa, I'm in the same situation. When I went to the Consulate, there was a sign at the security desk with an email address to request an appointment to submit my PU letter, passport and visa application. That was a few days ago and no reply yet, though the security guard said everyone she's seen write down the email, she's seen them again, which sounded promising. Good luck!
Will I be prosecuted in China for criticizing the Chinese Communist Party?
Beatrice Luger | Nov 3, 2020
Enoch Clark Zhao | Nov 3, 2020
1. Why do you want to go to China if you want to diss CCP? If that’s what you indeed to do, then go to westernized countries like Taiwan or Hong Kong. Singapore is not a great option, as many Singaporeans are not brainwashed by western propaganda, they have complaints about certain issues, but are not anti-Communists.
2. All citizens have the right to say whatever they like about the government in China, but nothing I’ll should be said in public platforms. Now, you can criticize a politician though, that is no problem. Just not the government.

Probably a scam, in any case the Chinese embassy isn’t the place that controls this. The Chinese embassy controls who can enter China. You’ll want to talk to US immigration about bringing someone here.

You have to go personally to the Consulate but to be sure check their website to follow all the necessary steps you need to do. That would be my advise.

Good morning, I was wandering if I come personally to submit my visa application to Chinese consulate in Chicago, would be able to get it the same day if I waited for it. If not, when can I receive it back from you.
marisi stromquist | Nov 4, 2018
Hughes Math | Nov 4, 2018
From website: Processing Time
Regular service: 4 business days
Express service: 2-3 business days
Rush service: 1 business day. Available only in extreme emergencies and subject to approval by the consular officer.
Note:
1. The above processing time is average and for reference only. Some applications may require longer processing time that a pick-up date cannot be confirmed until notified by the Visa Office.
2. Processing time for visa to HKSAR or Macao SAR visa does not apply. (Check more info here)
In the past you were able to pay for expedited service. I'm not sure if this is still available but it's an extra fee. In that case you would be able to give them all of your information in the morning, and then be able to come back and get your visa that afternoon.
Do you know if a US citizen born in China needs a visa to go to Hong Kong?
Barbara Aufiero | Nov 4, 2018
Don Bath | Nov 4, 2018
You don’t need a visa to visit hong kong, but you can only stay there for 90 days. You will need a US Passport. A visa is required if you want to cross the border into mainland China. My wife is a US citizen and we travel there frequently.
How can a US citizen born in China (my husband) get a chinese visa without having an old chinese passport? In fact, my husband was 5 years old when he left China. He was listed as a minor on his father's. His dad does not have his Chinese passport.

Where to park
Annette Washington | Nov 4, 2018
Cliff Clifford | Nov 4, 2018
I usually end up paying for parking in a building. You may find parking on the street but I would imagine it's metered. I wouldn't count on finding a spot though. It's going to cost you around $20 maybe in an outside of 35 if you can't find. Have a nice day!
No, it wont. You need a very specific photo size. 33mm wide, 48mm tall. Between 3 and 5mm of space between the top of the pic and the top of your head. Between 28 and 33mm from the top of your head to the bottom of your chin. The consulate does have a photo machine on site.
For those of us who have to come from out of state, does the consulate location have parking available?
Chris Coppock | Nov 4, 2018
Yalin Fu | Nov 4, 2018
If there is one it won't be free. You can find street parking if you are lucky. Proximity 4 dollars per hour
