I would suggest going online and signing in to your account. If you do not have web access, you would have to come into the office. Best to arrive early!

As a prior Medicare Agent… as I am no longer licensed but I will suggest that you have her go down and sign up.. Medicare A/B and D.. to collect Social Security you just need to apply at the office. You can still collect SS while working part time or fully retire. You can start the application process now..

The procedure I have always used: Look up the SSA office closest to you on Google Maps and get the phone number of that office, not the 800 number. Call that office. Be prepared to wait on hold for 1 to 2 hours. Be prepared to call back multiple times when you are disconnected. When they finally answer, make your appointment. Do not, repeat not, accept any suggestions from them about doing things on their website. Refuse any option other than an in-person appointment. When you go to your appointment, be sure to have all the necessary documentation and any other documents that might possibly be relevant. Better to have it and not need it, etc. Perseverance, not luck, wins out in the end.

There is an electronic terminal where you sign in and take a number which asks you if you have an appointment, but their website doesn't gave that option so mu best guess is that you need to call tie local office and make an appointment. Yes I also did a walk in I got there 45mins before they opened & I was 10th in line. I got waited on pretty quickly & I was in & out in about 45mins..
