What if I need to cancel my order?

We understand that things change. You can cancel your service prior to receiving any service including pre-drop appointments with a 48 hour notice before your scheduled first appointment. Cancellations after your service has started or with less than 48 hours notice will be charged the full storage rate for the remainder of the month plus one month renewal. The storage value used will be based on the cubic footage on the original order. If you have received any discounts that required a minimum contract length, then the remainder of the agreement term will be billed at the time of cancellation.

What if I miss my appointment?

If you happen to miss your scheduled appointment slot, your account will be billed a $45 missed appointment fee. You will then need to schedule a new appointment time via your online account.

Should I tip the specialty pack team?

While tipping is never required, if you feel your specialty pack team did an exceptional job, you can tip the team directly.

Can you dispose of my items in storage?

Can items be left with my doorman?

Yes, simply add a comment in your scheduling instructions notifying our team to pickup/deliver items at your doorman’s location. They will be required to sign.

Can Doorage wait while I pack my containers?

No problem. Our standard pickup/delivery drivers can wait up to 20 minutes for no additional charge while you pack your containers. Time over 20 minutes will be billed at our specialty pack labor rates.

What about fragile or valuable items?

Doorage is more than happy to store your fragile or valuable items. We highly recommend you select specialty pack assistance for fragile items and verify your high-value items are covered under your renters/homeowners policy as our limited warranty policy and protection plans do not cover high-value items.

Do protection plans cover everything?

Not everything is covered by a protection plan. Certain fragile-nature items are excluded from protection plan coverage. You may still store these items with the understanding that they are not covered by our limited warranty policy or protection plan. These items include previously damaged items, electronics, ready-to-assemble furniture or particle board, items not packed by Doorage specialty pack team members, and items not packed in Doorage containers/packaging.

Many renters and homeowners insurance plans provide for off-site storage protection. At Doorage, we want to insure our customers’ contents are always protected. We require our customers to either provide proof of insurance coverage or select one of our protection plans. Doorage offers three protection plans – Basic, Gold and Platinum – which can provide coverage up to $2000. Please visit our Protection Plan page for full terms and details.

What happens if one of my items is lost or damaged?

At Doorage, we care about our customers and their possessions. In the rare occurrence that something may be damaged or lost, our customer service team will work hard to resolve any issues. In addition, we do require all customers to have some protection plan or proof of insurance on file.

How do I know my stuff is safe?

Can I come visit my stuff at the warehouse?

For security reasons and the safety of your items, the warehouse is not open to the public. At the same time, with DoorLog, you will always know what you have in storage.

How many specialty pack professionals do I get, and how much do they cost?

Most specialty pack appointments require three pack professionals. Specialty pack team members are billed at $45 per man hour. We do not charge for drive time. We do require that all specialty items are blanketed and shrink wrapped at a minimum. Our team also offers more advanced packing materials and will review them with you at the time of service. All materials are charged per item as used for your specialty pack.

When will my specialty pack team arrive?

When you schedule your specialty pack appointment, you will be given a time window for arrival. The specialty pack team will also contact you approximately 30 minutes prior to arrival.

Will Doorage disassemble/assemble my items?

Yes. When you request your specialty pack appointment, our team will be able to disassemble most furniture items, and will attach hardware. Specialty pack team members are not allowed to remove items affixed to walls, such as TV’s and large artwork. Disassemble/assemble of furniture is billed at specialty pack team labor rates. Doorage specialty pack team members can not assemble or disassemble press-board or knock down furniture items.

What if I need a container back right away?

How much do deliveries and pickups cost?

Delivery and pickup of empty containers is free of charge to consumers. Pickups or deliveries consisting of any quantity of full standard containers are only $25, which includes up to 15 minutes time at the consumers door. All specialty pickups/deliveries, as well as deliveries of standard containers over 15 minutes, will be billed to the consumer at $45 per man hour plus the cost of specialty packing materials. Your account will be charged at the completion of pickup/delivery.

Not a problem. If you need more storage containers, simply log in and create a new order for additional containers and we will get them out to you at your selected time. If you order too many, our pickup team will remove the extra containers from your account and we will refund any charges for the extra containers.

How can I see what I have in storage?

Our user cataloging interface, DoorLog, gives you complete control to add titles, descriptions, and photographs to the contents of each container, and modify as desired. Simply log into your account to see all your containers in storage.

When do I start getting charged? How often and when will I be charged?

Doorage prorates on a daily basis your first month of storage. Your account is then billed for a month of storage on the first of each month. For order that do not involve any promotions or coupons, Doorage requires a minimum of one monthly renewal. Packing or pickup/delivery fees are billed following each appointment. Once all minimum terms of service have been met, you have all of your storage items back, and returned your empty bins to Doorage, you will no longer be charged each month. Please be aware that failure to return empty bins before the end of the month will result in an additional monthly storage charge.
