Great afternoon...absolute gem in Waterford Township. Something for everyone...and a lot more for kids!

Great family friendly free day This is a free park and there is so much to do. The fenced in playground is great. The area is mostly for older kids. The animals are easy to access and can be a great learning experience for anyone. The chickens are free roaming and might try to chase you. There is also a community garden.

No it does not. The animals there are all rescues from injuries or other means. They are the nicest and sweetest!

Yes, you can bring your own cooler. But you cannot bring in alcoholic beverages.
Because of our resident farm animals we do not allow pets at Hess-Hathaway Park. All of the other parks operated by the Waterford Parks and Recreation Department do allow leashed pets. The Drayton Plains Nature Center is a wonderful park to take dogs to enjoy scenic trails.

Yes you can visit the animals only, and it's free.
Yes, we have charcoal grills at each of the pavilions and by the gazebo. However if the pavilions and gazebos are reserved/rented to groups those groups have exclusive use of the grill at the pavilion they have rented.
Pets are not allowed at Hess Hathaway Park because we have farm animals at this facility. Leashed pets are permitted at all other Waterford Parks.
