Lived here for the summer of 2018. It was cheap and the neighbors were fine. Management is friendly. Can't complain.

I cannot express how much I have loved being a resident here for the last three years. The only reason I’m moving out is because I graduated and am trying to move away from the school. I’ll give a ridiculously long review so it’s thorough. Tl;dr is that while the buildings themselves are old and the laundry situation is inconvenient, the units are reasonably priced and are made worth it by the amount of space inside, the location for students, the communal outdoor space, and most importantly the amazing management and maintenance team. We moved in specifically because of reviews of the management and it’s been absolutely worth it. Some of these cons for me are personal, some I included for fairness: Cons: -There is no in-unit laundry and there are only a couple of machines per building that are coin-operated. There is no change machine. They’re also a little old. -The set up is strange in that we were on the first floor and had to go down two levels to get to our apartment. -There is no fitness center -The units themselves are old. Some cabinet doors fell off and our carpet could’ve justified replacement when we got here. -Overall these are apartments for college students. Every once in a while, the pot smell is strong and the parties are loud (even in a pandemic ugh). -The kitchens are small, closed off and not well-lit. And here are the overwhelming pros: -Aside from one previous manager who should remain nameless (but won’t, Brenda):< my 3 years as a resident has seen the best apartment management that I have seen in Ann Arbor. We moved in with Dana, who was an angel. Currently there is Kristine and she is just as amazing. I’ve interacted with 30-40 Ann Arbor apartment offices lately and no one, NO ONE holds a candle to how well I’ve been treated in the Highlands. Kristine is honest, down-to-earth, understanding, and really cares about the residents. -The maintenance team is super fast, knowledgeable, kind, and patient. The turnaround for work orders is great and they never mind helping fix things that should be common sense. -Compared to all the other places around here, the two-bedroom units are so spacious and reasonably priced for how big they are. -Because the building is older, the walls are pretty thick and sound hasn’t been too much of an issue. We don’t really hear our neighbors while in the living room and almost never hear them in the bedrooms. -a large percent of residents are music students and it’s pretty safe to practice at home and it’s super close to the music school. -There is a huge grassy area out back that’s been great for COVID-safe get-togethers and is awesome for pups. -we had a bottom floor unit and they all have small patios. -It has ac, heating, a dishwasher and although it’s inconvenient, there is on-site laundry. That’s a combo that’s basically unheard of at this price point in Ann Arbor. -It’s a 5-minute walk to the city bus stop and the campus shuttle so it’s super convenient to get around without a car. -We’re far enough from the road and in a fairly suburban part of town, so it feels super safe. -There are always loads of parking spots.

Awesome place. Lived here from 2017- 2018. Very competitive prices with other locations on North and much cheaper than Central Campus. Very prompt response to maintenance and great communication from management. Dana, the property manager, is very easy to reach, is prompt to get things done. There was also outdoor picnic areas.

Very nice place to live on North Campus. Competitive prices with other locations on North and much cheaper than Central Campus. It is nice to have the largest apartment out of my friends at around 1000 sq ft for a two bedroom unit cheaper than other smaller apartments nearby. The apartments are well maintained by the kind and helpful management staff. Brenda, the property manager, is very easy to reach, is prompt to get things done, and will let you know if there will be, if any, delays. The apartments come unfurnished. There are also outdoor picnic areas, a basketball court, and a pool.
