Very disappointed experience with this auction, I sold a 2014 focus for $1150 and I was told that I’m getting charged only around $150 but after I got the check in the mail, I got only $500 not even half of the check.

First experience with buying a car at the auto auction; always had my doubts but with limited finances and being on fixed income this was my most affordable option. The staff was great and the bidding experience was exciting but however one of the things I hate the most is not being able to test drive the cars.. but understable to the rules but this 2010 Nissan rogue after picking it up the next day I begin to notice a clunking sound going over bumps. Then at once abs light, brake light, awd light and, AWD lock light all came on as well as the heat, remind you all at once while driving. what I originally thought was the need for a bad wheel alignment when I first pulled away started to show as much much more. Just got it on the 21st of September I understand it's a as is purchase but same day things begin. Some things also are safety concerns dealing with the braking system and such which was not noted. Not fair but I will say if you go here take a mechanic or someone with you that knows cars because your dealing with experience crafty money making individuals. It's sad everywhere you go someone out to get over on you! I just struggle to get my money up to get this vehicle now I have to park on the side of the house waiting to get my money up before I can go get it safe to drive not Fair

You should thoroughly inspect any vehicle you purchase from here I’m just saying.

Yes we do occasionally get police vehicles and buses in the auction. We run vehicles for several local municipalities. Your best bet would be to check out our website and see what new vehicles have been added to each sale. New vehicles come in everyday. We also have the Wayne County Auction on 9-21-19, which will have vehicles and equipment from Wayne County including Sheriff vehicles.
No it is open to the public
No ,you not have to be a dealer. Go to Greaterdetroitaa.com
Normally at auction when you win a vehicle you have 2 business days to pay entire balance of vehicle. GDAA offers the layaway plan which give you up to 6 weeks to pay off the vehicle. No payments are required and no penalties for paying vehicle off early. Customer must put half the total price of vehicle down including all fees within 2 business days of purchase. Then they have 6 weeks to complete transaction. Vehicle stays at GDAA until paid in full. Once again no payments are required or accepted, just bring in the balance within the layaway time frame and drive your new car home.
Sorry we do not have half off Vehicles although you may feel like you are paying half off on some cars because they are sold at great deals. You need drivers license, plates and insurance to drive away. Of course payment for vehicle also....you are also allowed to have vehicle towed out.....we partner with LA insurance if you need insurance and we handle all the Sec. Of State paperwork and plates for you.
To see the last 60 days of past sales results log into greaterdetroitaa.com and check out "post sales results". Every auction is different and new cars come in every day. Bid to win !
Yes it is public. There is a fee on successful bids according to how much the winning bid is.
Depends on the price of the car. Typically with Buyer fee ($65 - $400), title fee ($15), sales tax, $75 document fee and new plate or transfer plate fee, for a $700 car you're looking at about $400.
Possibly. You can view information about each vehicle in the pre-sale listings. If you subscribe to their emails just type in what you're looking for and they'll email you whenever they get one.
Sorry we do not offer a discount for bridge card. All transactions must be paid with cash, cashiers check, or debit card. Cars do start as low as $400 and we also offer a Layaway program of 6 weeks. Please feel free to call the auction anytime for further information. We do offer a discount to Active and Retired Military and First Responders.
Great answers from John and Janine. Thanks
Yes but you can not plate or drive it until the title comes back if you do it that way
Yes 10% everyday and 50% off buy fee on Veterans and Memorial Day
Janine has it exactly right. When you win the auction, they require a 400 dollar deposit, immediately. The balance has to be paid in cash, or by cashier's check, within the deadline allowed... I think that's 2 or 3 business days. Good luck!
Auction is open to the public and dealers. Everyone can attend. Free admission. Must have I.D. though
If you don't have all the money right then the $400 Will hold the car for a few days.
You can view pictures online and inspect the vehicles 2 hrs before the sale. They do not allow vehicle inspections other than on auction days.
It is a Auction. You have to bid
Yes $400 cash or credit card deposit...you only have to put down if you bid and win a car. Deposit comes off your balance....fyi entry to auction is free too
Wanda you can bring the vehicle in any day during business hours and register the car for the sale . Any one in the office can help you and explain the process. You will need the title for the vehicle when it enters the sale.
They get cars from previous owners so it may be in fact possible but like the other person added call ahead or register for the website and they can let you know what's going up for auction that Saturday or that Wednesday
