My husband and I are newly retired and wanted to save some money and not use all our Hilton rewards; yes, we are Hilton members. We chose Econo Lodge in Martinsville because it was less than half price of Hilton rooms. We were pleasantly surprised with our room. We loved the very comfortable beds (2 doubles) with clean comfortable sheets with extra blankets, hot shower with newish white towels, large working TV. We overlooked dated/used furniture and nicked items for cool A/C unit. The breakfast was scant with good orange juice and coffee. We would recommend this hotel. Our lady in front even gave us the Choice discount without asking for it. It was lower than going online for other rates.

Horrible unclean place, ask for non smoking yet room reeked, burn holes in blankets, no one cleaned room or supplied fresh towels. Cigarette butts and bags of trash in hallways. Do NOT go by pictures on the site they are nothing like what you get. Also one night couple in next room had a on going FOR HOURS fight yelling hitting so forth called desk and someone went to the room and said your too loud… repeated call to desk and were told nothing they could do… this place is a dive.

The rooms are in awful condition, very unclean, masked by a strong odor of horrible pine Sol (in a non-smoking room). Your feet stick to the "clean" bathroom floor. There are holes in the carpet. There are holes in the walls. The lights didn't work. The managers lock the doors to the office at night and they deal with customers through a small window on the side of the building. The shower curtains have mold on them. Dirty, dirty, dirty. Overall DO NOT PAY THE OVERPRICED RATE THEY ARE ASKING. Asking $250-$300 a night during race weekend, this is price gouging. This place isn't worth $50 a night. This place just needs to be shut down.

I would rate this place as a zero. I could not sleep do to being afraid of roaches. We killed 8 or more & found I don’t know how many died ones. There were cigarette burns on the bathtub. This place is just totally nasty. We were here for the NASCAR race so of course was charged $250 plus tax which totaled almost $300 for the night. We called the front desk and the lady acted like she didn’t believe us. She said that she hadn’t heard anything from anyone else about them. We took pictures of them for proof, so we will definitely be showing them to the front desk in the morning. 🤮🤬
