Definitely worth going if you’re in the area. Dalton and John were our guides; they were absolutely amazing. They were so funny and made the tour enjoyable while also keeping us safe. They could tell I was a little nervous and went out of their way to make me feel reassured.

What an amazing journey. These guys really take care of you and have made sure to make the tour effortless for their customers. The views were incredible. The zip lines were long and soaring. I would do it again and again!!!

Second time with this crew. Took my kids about five years ago and did the trip again recently with my wife. These guys are the best and the facilities, ziplines, and equipment are first class.

Smoky Mountain Ziplines | Aug 4, 2022

Our current restrictions require canopy tour participants to be at least 8 years of age and weigh a minimum of 60 pounds or more to go on our tour. We also have a 275 pound maximum weight limit. I am currently unaware of any course in the area that rides 3 year olds although if Im not mistaken, Wears Valley Ziplines takes children ages 5 to 7 years of age tandem with staff. Thank you for your question and have a great evening! Sincerely Bodhi SMZ Guide Director

Is there double harnesses? Can me and my child go together?

Melissa Robinson | Nov 3, 2018
Lisa H | Nov 3, 2018

You can't double up but if he is willing to try they have great guides. We had a mom and son who was afraid at first and all of us were patient and encouraging to them. By the end he wanted to be first and loved it. Some of the "guide " comments on here are a bit rude. Go and talk to them, let him watch the video and make your decision that way.

My fiance and I are heading to Tennessee for a getaway. I love the idea of zip lining but not him.. is it possible for someone to just watch the zip lining happen? Or are the distances too far apart? I don't want to feel like I'm going by myself..

If he is scared he can go with a guide or you could try a smaller zip course. Five oaks has a fun park and it goes fast. Nothing crazy for new people.

I most definitely want to go pro my zip lining experience. Is this allowed with my OWN camera. I do not want to have to rent one when I own one.

Christi | Nov 3, 2019
Smoky Mountain Ziplines | Nov 3, 2019

Dear Christi, Bodhi here and I hope this finds you well. We do rent our own gopros in house, but we actuallly started doing that only because we got into the habit of carrying extra gopro clips on hand for our guests that had forgotten or misplaced their own. We provide pouches for guests to bring their own phones or small cameras and in regards to gopros we strongly encourage you to bring your own along. Chest strapped cameras normally don't function well due to interference with the riding straps and we strongly discourage the selfie sticks, but we will absolutely provide you with one of our helmets that already has the mounts attached so that you can bring your own camera or gopro at no extra charge. If you have any other questions please feel free to call us at 865-429-9004. Thank you for your questions and interest and have a great day! Sincerely Bodhi

What if I just wanted to experience zip lining only and not the other stuff

Lisa Cameron | Nov 3, 2019
Smoky Mountain Ziplines | Nov 3, 2019

Dear Lisa, Bodhi here and I hope this finds you well. At our location we offer a seven line canopy tour that does include a 30' controlled descent (think guide/device controlled rappel as opposed to guest operated) and a ride to and from our canopy tour area in a M35a3 deuce and a half. On our adventure the controlled descent and truck ride aren't really voluntary if I'm being honest. Our canopy tour area is located about a mile away from and 400' higher than our base camp. You'll be thanking the truck by the time you get to the top. As for the controlled descent it is an engineered system designed for vertical travel from one of our landing platforms to a lower sending platform. We do have rescue kits and the training to bypass the controlled descent in emergency situations, but the best way down is to use the controlled descent device. There are other tours in our area that operate without a controlled descent, but I think you'll like ours and it. Sincerely Bodhi

Souper_Kire “Souper_Kire” | Nov 3, 2019
Smoky Mountain Ziplines | Nov 3, 2019

Dear Erik, Bodhi here and I hope this finds you well. Our current weight limits are a 60 pound minimum weight limit and a 275 pound maximum weight limit. These weight limits are based more on the braking system and it's manufacturer's recommendation than what the zipline and cables will actually hold. As per ASTM amusement device standards being adopted and applied to ziplines by the state of Tennessee, our insurance company's policies, and professional responsibility from our side to uphold our declared policies, at this point in time, we would not be able to accommodate you on our tour. We do have free drinks at our facility for our zippers and guests waiting on our zippers. I also know that there is a Soaring Eagle zipline attraction on the Pigeon Forge Parkway next to Fantasy Golf that is a dual seater "ziplinish" system that has a two person maximum weight of 550 pounds, which is a good option and a fun ride. Sincerely Bodhi SMZ Guide Director

As long as you can stand and walk without the chair, I don't see why not. If you are wheelchair bound then I would say no. There's parts where you have to climb stairs and walk short distances.

How long does the zip line adventure last?

Julia Brown | Nov 3, 2018
Smoky Mountain Ziplines | Nov 3, 2018

Hey Julia, as the other community here has already done a wonderful job answering, I thought I would just summarize things a little. The current adventure we offer is seven lines plus a 30' controlled descent, traversing about 4200' of cable in all. Although we do run tours with as little as one guest, ziplining is generally more fun as a group activity. Because of this and the fact that a full tour for us is 8 guests, we like to suggest allowing up to two hours for their adventure on the mountain. Under normal conditions a full tour will finish in about an hour and a half up to the full two hours depending on several factors including how well the guests respond to our guide's corny jokes. We also require a 30 minute early arrival prior to your tour start time in order to allow for signing our waivers and harnessing. I hope this information has been helpful and that you have a great day! Sincerely Bodhi

Should I go ziplining if I have stents in my heart

Wendy Rose | Nov 3, 2018
Smoky Mountain Ziplines | Nov 3, 2018

Dear Wendy, as Deborah mentioned that is a wonderful question for your doctor. Personally, Neither myself or any of my staff are trained, medical professionals qualified to give proper guidance and decision making ability in regards to those areas of medical concern. Ziplining should never be considered a "safe" activity. In reality, it it is an inherently risky, sports like activity undertaken at our location for amusement in an "at height" outdoor environment and exposed to the associated elements and risks therein. Ziplining with pre-existing medical conditions, or after undergoing certain medical procedures could definitely introduce increased risks and the chance of harmful or potentially fatal results. To reiterate, I am not a medical professional and as such cannot make a decision regarding your personal health, but if you're doctor thinks some mountain views and fresh air would be good for you, then give us a call today. Thank you for your question.

Is there a weight limit

Renee Purvis | Nov 3, 2018
Smoky Mountain Ziplines | Nov 3, 2018

Hi Renee, Bodhi here and I hope this finds you well. Our current weight limits are a minimum age and weight requirement of 8 years of age and weight of 60 pounds, and a maximum weight of 275 pounds. As additional considerations, the harness must fit the wearer appropriately and the braking systems we use are custom tuned to operate best within those weight limits. There is redundancy built into many zipline structural systems, and those operating within the state of Tennessee are mandated to comply with the ASTM standards for amusement devices including annual inspection to either the ASTM or ACCT set of standards. ACCT actually requires a safety of factor of 5 for 1/2" cable installations We do operate primarily on the honor system, but there is a scale beside the counter if a guest is concerned about someone weighing the minimum and maximum requirements. Thank you for your question.
