Beautiful campground and very clean well maintained plenty of space, this time of the year you have to deal with Yellow Jackets (wasps) don't worry they're not aggressive just annoying

I should be giving 5 stars. The grounds are well kept and clean. Facilities were nice. Camp sites had plenty of room. Unfortunately, we were bombarded by yellow jackets. I'm talking two dozen or more swarming every possession we took out of the truck. I expect some bugs and some bees/wasps when camping, but I couldn't reach to touch a single thing without having them on or near my hands, in my face, etc. We spoke with the host and he said they've been really bad everywhere. We tried a different spot in a different area of the grounds. Same thing. Dozens of yellow jackets. Another couple from a different site saw our struggle and said how they had been stung. Then a man came up and said he camps here every year and it's the worst it's been. This campsite was perfect, but we couldn't do it. The host was great. Place was awesome. Yellow jackets were terrible.

It's a lovely campsite and the sites are huge. Plenty of trees. Elk running around but there are an enormous amount of bees at the site that I'm in. Site number 66 and they are everywhere not just in my sight everywhere. I'm not sure if this is a normal thing but it's a little off-putting for me. I got bit by the bees I was trying to fix something outside on my trailer and was swarmed by the bees. It's disgusting. Sorry I wish I could leave a good review for this Campground because it's very nice otherwise, but if you have any fear of bees or are allergic to them I would avoid this place.

Really well maintained campground super close to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon! Great but campsites and trees for hammock camping. Only complaint was that the facilities aren’t great. Bathroom toilets were great but there aren’t sinks for tooth brushing and washing hands. And no dish washing place or trash dumping. Could use those resources.

No. There's a dump at campers village RV park in the town of Tusayan and a dump station at Mather campground inside the park.
Self check in. Stop at the info board and get an envelope then find open site you like and put your info on site then drop the envelope with payment back at the info board. If you have America rhe beautiful senior pass. Cost is 50% off regular price. Keep an eye out for George a young bull elk that had figured out how to turn on The water and get himself a drink. He stays close to the first water tap
it is open now (July 28 2020)
