Great experience. The tour asked you to meet about 1 mile north at a motel. Then we all drove to the light station grounds together. We were split into 3 smaller groups and had an overview of the grounds and lighthouse. Then we could walk the area and talk with other docents. The tour was about two hours long with an interesting discussion on the purpose of the light station and the living experience of the keeper and families.

Very nice light station, need reservations which are limited to two days a week. Meet at a vacant motel by 9:45 am about a mile and a half north of the light station, check in and go over the rules, plan on finishing up between 11:15 and noon. Drive back to the "unlocked" gate, park and meet up with one of the three docents. Each group heads off and gets about 30 minutes of history, then walk around and check out grounds, shoreline and buildings. Some interesting facts, sounds changes over the years (included in two videos), and a nice gift shop. Sunny and quite breezy to start with, then fog rolled in quickly before noon. Docents were very nice, and available for questions for the entire time. Plan ahead, enjoy some time there.

I looked at their website, they have multiple contact methods including email. Here's the address: Piedras Blancas Light Station Association PO Box 127/15950 Cabrillo Highway San Simeon, CA 93452
We can see it now. I first saw it at 6:30 tonight, 2/2/10
thanks for your speedy response!
At this point in time, Piedras Blancas does not host weddings. The Point San Luis Light House in Avila Beach does, and has much better infrastructure to support a wedding as well as more reliably good weather, and is a charming light station.
Parking is free however the tour cost $ you meet your tour guide at the designated spot up the road
Tickets are $10 for adults, typically you'll park at the motel before arriving where you'll pay. My tour was over 2 hours and we did a lot of exploring. Check out the website for more info too. https://www.piedrasblancas.org/index.html
The light station tour incorporates a 1/2 mile trail of decomposed granite that is approximately 3 feet in width. There are benches located every 30-40 feet along the trail. There are a couple of steeper grades on the trail, so we are not officially ADA. However, we regularly have visitors in wheelchairs, on scooters, or with walkers that make the loop walk. There are 12 steep stairs into the lighthouse itself, and, if you or your companion(s) can't make the stairs, we provide a photo album of everything you would see inside the lighthouse. We do our best to accommodate our visitors, and have wheelchairs available to borrow free of charge if needed.
