UW Medicine Urgent Care at Ballard

Wife went to urgent care for consistent lower adominal pain. No labs or imaging ordered. Doctor didn't try to make any diagnosis and told my wife making another appointment with her PCP instead. The doctor said the urgent care only makes assessments of whether patients need to be seen by emergency or not. If the condition is warrant for emergency, they will send patients to emergency. Otherwise, they don't make diagnosis and the urgent care doesn't have capabilities to do labs or imaging at scene, not even to write an order of labs or imaging. That's totally waste of time to go to this urgent care. What's the point to come to this urgent care if it can't do anything other than either send you to emergency room or ask you to make another appointment with PCP? If my condition is warrant for emergency, I would go to ER directly instead of spending over an hour at urgent care for a referral or transfer.

Waited 2 hours outside for an appointment and was told after all that time, that they we're unable to fit me in for a simple flu shot. No attempts to remedy the situation were made. A warning would've been appropriate and well received. Wish I hadn't wasted hours waiting for an appointment here.

I have been to the clinic for a couple injuries and one illness over the years. I always found the staff and doctors to be friendly and helpful. I have always been impressed by how quickly I was seen and helped. The online queue and scheduling system is great and has really been helpful in minimizing time spent in the waiting room. Highly recommend if you live in the area.

Excellent experience with all staff. Efficient, professional, kind, discreet, and just overall very pleasant. I presented with a pretty serious soft tissue neck/shoulder injury which I'd already been aggressively self-treating with ice, stretching and advil. Admittedly I rarely use medical care and basically self-treat everything, so I have really minimal needs. Total time in clinic was about 2.5 hours, which isn't bad for urgent care. Once back in the patient room, I was done in less than 30 min. Got a referral for physical therapy which I feel like is the right next step (and didn't have to wait to get in with my PCP), and alleviated my fears that something more serious might be wrong. Highly recommend this office.
