I need to get on the base a lot for work, and so most of the people in the visitors center know me well enough by now. They're always super fast and helpful in getting my day passes made, and I almost never see a long line waiting. I've been going there almost daily for the last 4 months, and I've only had to wait longer than 10 minutes on two separate occasions. They're (understandably) sticklers for their security policies, but they won't tell you no just because it's a policy. They all have good heads on their shoulders, are reasonable, and will work with you to get you the clearance you need in order to be eligible for a pass. I'm going to miss seeing them all the time once my long-term pass is finally approved. I might come in for visits just to say hello! 😂

Great place. Was able to go on base and visit with my new grandson and daughter and son in law.. Had a great unforgettable visit to Washington

I didn't go inside but the grounds are really nice. Great statues of Lewis and Clark and information about their expedition.

Are we talking about military issued ID or WA State with privilege card for base usage?
It's on the border but technically outside the gates, the secondary 24hr station is on the gate-line as well.
Not unless you know someone on base to sponsor your trip. Bad map advice
Yes, but you must go through the Visitor's Center first. You also will need you car's registration and insurance documents, too.

I'm not sure.....You should probably get in contact with JBLM PAO ( public affairs office ).
You have to go to the actual office and register your Veterans card(from the VA) to get base access. Anyone with you over the age of 16 will have to get a pass. If your retired or family member with a military ID you should have no problems. Plan time to go to the visitor center they are slow.
A walk way, yes. Gas station,no.
Nope. They tow it on the dot on that hour. But your service member can pick you up from there and drive your car onto post as long as one of their friends gives you a ride.
Also you must have an enhanced drivers license or a passport to go with your reg. I D
There are several statues and the old gate at the visitor center. No pass needed. Do NOT take pictures of the current gate or of the installation itself.
You must have an official
Sorry no
You also have to have a sponsor they can contact while you are there. And make sure you have no weapons in your vehicle. No guns or knives.
