Quick and easy way to safely dispose of old household chemicals (not latex paint though).
Ruth Emerson and Bob Owen
These folks are friendly, helpful, and efficient. This is a free service to residents of King County, Including Seattle residents. So that our bad stuff does not go in the landfill or into our water. Note that they no longer except latex paint. They will explain to you how to dry it out so you can put it in your trash.
Me Me
Such a valuable and easy-to-use service: you drive up, they remove your hazardous waste items from your vehicle, you pay any fees and you're done. The hardest part is remembering they're only open Sunday through Tuesday.

Their is a limit of 50 gallons per trip, in containers of 5 gallons or less. The limit is based on trip, so you could make multiple trips.
Where is second use?
They don't take these items. https://ecology.wa.gov/Waste-Toxics/Reducing-recycling-waste/Electronics
They do not take ink jet printers. Best buy offers recycling services free of charge for these, as do many other electronics retailers.
Yes they take all vehicle products.
David, yes Happy Hauler. Takes fluorescent lighting. We take the fixtures, we only charge extra for the fluorescent lights themselves. We typically recycle them at "Batteries plus Bulbs" They have a deal with the city for recycling these. The will take 10 a day for free, from anyone. However being a hauling company. Sometimes i'll come in with 1000 linear feet of lighting. They charge $.20 per ft for anyrhing beyond that. To enthuse proper recycling we keep it as affordable as possible and charge no upcharge. Only the exact cost that it costs us.
No, it posted that they do not accept liquid paint. The sign says to add cat litter and wait for it to harden and then throw it in the trash.
No they do not pick-up
No. Take those to Albertsons or Fred Meyer. Bins out front or just inside the front door.
Yes
If there is liquid paint in them, dry it by letting it sit open for an extended period of time, or by mixing with a solid (saw dust, kitty litter, or paint hardener available at a hardware store). If there is no free liquid, it can be disposed of to solid waste. 2nd use or some paint companies will take donations of liquid acrylic paints, although some charge a fee.
They do not take latex paint. It can be dried and disposed of to solid waste, or you can pay for disposal at some paint companies or 2nd use stores. You can dry with air, or by mixing with either a paint dry catalyst or kitty litter. You can put it in solid waste once there is no free liquid.
You can use this site to find a location near you http://1800recycle.wa.gov Target, Best Buy, and Home Depot are convenient places to drop them off. They show up in the search.
No, there is not a charge for dropping off anything there. They just have limits on quantities of some things, and they do not accept latex paint.
There is a minimum charge of like $25.00 and then they charge by weight. So I don't think it would be more than $30.00 May be even less.
Yes
You have to pay a fee, but you can take it to one of these places: https://kingcounty.gov/depts/dnrp/solid-waste/programs/take-it-back/paint.aspx I think I paid $5 per gallon at Ballard Reuse, they required that the cans were labeled with "latex"
can't you put them in a garbage bag, tie it shut then compress the filter to fit in your garbage can? This is what I do with my large filters that won't fit in my 20gal can.
That would go to waste water
No, however you can now schedule to have small appliances picked up, including microwaves online http://www.seattle.gov/specialitems
Only oil based paint. Latex is not accepted.
Yes. If you are talking about the tanks. The hoses are trash, and the torch can be placed in recyclable metal at the transfer station.
Yes we are open Sunday thru Tuesday 9 30am - 4 30pm
