I live in Tacoma and I didn't even know that we had a brand-new, bright and shiny Amtrak station attached to Freighthouse Square at 422 E 25th Street. It looks like a safer place to park overnight than the old station.

As of November 18, 2021, this station is permanently closed. Amtrak trains now stop at the nearby Tacoma Dome Station, 424 East 25th St., Tacoma WA 98421.

Not a big station at all. There are a couple of pricey vending machines, a glassed in ticketing area that's reminiscent of a prison guard station, and a small, dated waiting area that doesn't accommodate many seated people in the time of social distancing.

Its a shame the ACTUAL TRAIN STATION in Tacoma is now a courthouse. It will DO I SUPPOSE. I miss UNion Station when it was ACTUALLY A TRAIN STATION!

What is the question ? Is it about the railroad? Or the community that lives around it?👀👀👀
Yes, there's parking there for customers and it's free. Would not recommend leaving a vehicle there overnight as it's in a bad area.
From. Tacoma. Wa
Heard it was a truck not sure
No. The Empire Builder goes from Seattle to Chicago, not Tacoma. You will need to board at King Street Station in Seattle.

Train DOES run Saturday and Sunday, I've recently taken it both days.
No, it's a very small station, limited parking, so the closet rental places are a few miles downtown.
I have not seen any signage saying otherwise. But as Chris said, it's not the best neighborhood and I don't think it's monitored by video at night.
Use their website, amtrak.com, then you can find all the options
Visit their website at amtrak.com to get pricing and availability.
It's still in limbo until further notice.
I'd broach that with the Portland location, unless you are referring to the Pearl district in Tacoma. There is only the one stop, then it's either a bus or ride-sharing trip.
I believe it is recommended to be there at least 30 minutes prior to scheduled departure. Food is available on board as well as drinks. Restrooms too. Bring your own food? Not a hundred percent sure
First come first serve. What I try to do is let people know I have someone coming aboard and if its at all possible to save a seat. Most times people will be kind enough.
About a third of a mile, uphill.
Hello Sara, The one way ticket price for a senior citizen to ride from Tacoma to Salem is $35.10 if you book the ticket at least 48 hours in advance. The ticket prices go up as availability goes down. Last minute ticket purchase will cost exactly twice ($70.20). If you find yourself in this predicament choose to purchase a. business class ticket for $66.00 and you get a $6.00 food voucher and a bottle of drinking water. I have ridden both ways and it is a pleasant trip. One other thing to keep in mind is that not all routes are train direct. Some are a combination of train and bus so be careful how you book your ticket...
No, so long as you have your ticket.
No. Amtrak stops at king street station.
Amtrak only stops at this station, located at 1001 Puyallup ave.
There isn't a parking garage. There is no fee to park there but I wouldn't risk leaving a vehicle there as it may be vandalized or towed.
It is a bad area, would not park there overnight. I don't know of any secure lot nearby.
There is free short term parking for customers. However, that station is in a bad area of town so don't leave anything valuable in your vehicle if you're not going to be back until after dark.
The Greyhound bus station is right across the street from Tacoma Amtrak Station. You could take the bus there.
No trains go directly from Tacoma to Spokane. There is a bus. Or you take the train to Portland then transfer.
It is NOT a good idea to leave your car there for two nights. Tacoma Amtrak Station is located in a bad area of town and parking is not secured. I know of no secured parking lots nearby. Your best bet is to take a cab or Uber there.
The last train going that far North is before 7pm, so you would have to stay the night and take a morning train. Go to the Amtrak website and put in Tacoma to Bellingham for the day after to see your train options.
Go to the Amtrak website and select "book now" (you don't have to proceed to checkout). Enter in Tacoma and LV and it will show you all the route options. It looks like you'll have to take a train, then two buses, then another train.
Just put that information into the website and you'll get ticket information. It is about an 8 hour bus ride.
Look at the stops for the Coast Starlight route.
You don't want to leave your car overnight in the parking lot. It's in a bad area for theft. There are no secured parking areas nearby that I know of. You would be better off having a friend, cab or Uber dropping you off at the station.
No the train still on I-5
The location of Tacoma Amtrak Station is 1001 Puyallup Ave. in Tacoma.
Look on Amtraks website for phone number & they can provide you with that information. Fares change according to how far ahead you book and holidays. There is also a handicapped discount.
