Delightfully woodsy spot, nice picnic area under the trees, nicely groomed trails and quite a few of them although they aren't well marked. Most of the time I couldn't hear traffic sounds, always a plus, but on the west side, could definitely hear 15th. Can also see the surrounding neighborhood from several spots. When I'm walking on trails, even in the city, I like a little more of a rural feel--although that doesn't factor into my rating. Because of the lack of trail signage/markers, I kinda want to give 3.5 stars because of this but that's not an option.

Hamlin is a nice park. If you want a place to feel like you're hiking in the forest on trails this is a perfect park. There's lower Hamlin and upper. Two softball fields and an entry to the park at upper are really all that's at upper. If you're a roller skater skating upper can be nice because of the access to the highschool sidewalks. Lower Hamlin is mostly where all the trails connect and a nice little smooth circular path at lower to skate or walk. I want to say 4 or 5 loops of the circular path is a miles. Enjoy!

Large park with many trails that are good for kiddos. Non-committal since none of the trails lead too far from the park and parking lot. Playgrounds were in good shape, nice assortment of trails walking and paved walking with baseball fields and playgrounds sprinkled in and even some cannon gun thingys. Nice place.

3 stars only due to the desperate lack of signage for the trails. Not even a park map at the entrance. Why? Nothing...well there are a few random white pegs with “> or <" which still leaves you with so many questions. Where is this leading to? So on and so forth.. Just to name one but on the plus side I did see a giant Eagle 🦅 today, see!

Well under a half mile? Just barely more than the standard field plus some bleachers.
Yes
Not very much is paved. If your stroller can handle dirt and rocky paths there is a large network of trails in the woods.
Not sure but ... There's a covered picnic shelter, several benches, and some fence -- plenty of unofficial place to park a bike. (And if you want to ride, there's a wide, flat gravel trail along the western edge of the developed park.)
I don't know of any Poisonous mushrooms in Hamlin park.
I don't think there is one sorry
