They've failed to keep 2 phone interview appointments with me, and when I called to reschedule the 2nd time I was treated poorly. I was on hold for 30 mins then could barely hear the representative even though the signal was fine, and they actually hung up on me before helping me. Everyone working there should he unemployed. Failed to keep another appointment then hungup again when I called to reschedule.

They got me in and out and others fairly quickly, only waited about 20 minutes. I am happy with the outcome. I appreciate everyone's tireless hard work there. I could only imagine. The man working behind the desk at the time was fast and efficient.

Don’t even bother with this place. It will be a complete waste of your time. I filled out an application months ago they said I needed to turn in a document which I did multiple times and I have been calling 3 times a week for 2 months now, nobody’s answers. Leave a message, doesn’t matter they won’t call you back. Someone needs to get things straight here what a joke.

This place is horrible, they set phone interviews and don't call you, they never answer the phones, only one person working the desk when there are at least 10 employees in the back doing nothing, can't blame it on covid restrictions anymore, the whole staff needs to be replaced with people who want to work and people who care about the needs of others

I've called and left multiple messages but no reply, been a week. I've declared it useless.
The office is a joke!
So what's your actual question?
You can go online and ask for another one
You must fill out the proper paperwork in mail it in, or physical go to office and turn it in. You will have to be interviewed by caseworker for snap renewal.
I had better luck going into the office in person :-/
The Department of Human Services.
They never answer their phones
Go to the DHS office where you moved to
You have to go back in as they probably didn't reinstate them unfortunately I'm dealing with the same thing with my mom
Must call and leave a message
Call caseworker & report death
In general the people at the office are there to help direct you to the proper form. I find it easiest to go in and speak to them personally or fill out forms online first. Print out any communication and go inside and speak. The phones are usually slammed. If you want to try calling the best bet is to look at hours and start calling just before they open.
yes you may walk in and they are glad to see your kids .
Yes but you need a mask to go In
They have attendants at the office on Wednesday
That's happened to me before that's when I'd go in and find out what is going on
Sometimes the system is down and it takes thema little bit to get back to people but I'd wait at least til 5 before giving up, sometimes it takes a few days
They always closed on Wednesdays, u can't see a caseworker but building is open
They will mail it out.. No more link cards distributed through office for years now..but if you go in then your app will be processed withing 3-5 days
No. Closed for the holiday.
Yes
Yes
No you have to call the link line and order one
Yes avoid lunch from 1130 to 1
Yes. Avoid lunch from 1130 to 1. They start seeing people at 8am
Yes or you can apply online @ abe.illinois.gov
No. DHS does not provide any rental assistance
Yes
They may tell you they will but they'll leave you sitting in the waiting room until they close at 5. You can switch to Tazwell County DHS though, they actually answer the phone and take care of their people.
You can go to this office for that. You just let them know that you want to establish child support. They will ask if you need a test. Then they will put it in motion for you.
Good luck, I've been trying to get them to either answer the phone or call me back since October. I've been approved for snap since then, and even qualified for emergency, but my card won't work. I'm hungry and my mom has been having to help me get food but they don't care. Then I applied for cash assistance and checked the box stating that I can't come in for an interview but they scheduled one anyway but when I called for a phone interview they still wouldn't answer and the letter said my case would be closed if I miss the appointment and don't get ahold of them. They don't care about anyone, they just screw everyone over.
If you go during their business hours, you should be able to speak to someone..just expect a little bit of a wait.
If you're walking? 20minutes. If you're driving in day traffic? Seven minutes.
Yes abe.illinois.gov
When you go in for your appointment you do, but not to apply online for it :)
You will either need to come here and ask someone, if they have ended, they will be able to help you out. Or call down and speak with someone.
You should be able to speak with a case work when you come down here.
