Sissy has been adopted!
Yes
I'm looking for a Coton or Maltese or Malshe puppy. Hopefully 8 weeks old or more.
Yes they do but that changes daily. Just go in and find your new best friend
No they did not answer the phone and when I got there it was four people who could have answer my phone call.
I want to have a feral cat neutered. Not easy to catch. If I get him in my carrier can I bring him the next day without making appointment?I am afraid I would miss the appointment time if I could not catch him. He does not always come by.
We can, but it would be best to contact the St. Louis Herpetological Society first - they are much better equipped to find homes for these guys. Thank you!
It depends on things like age, vaccination status, etc. We do have lots of spay/neuter specials throughout the year, so please contact our Animal Medical center of Mid-America at 314.951.1534 to see what you can qualify for! Thank you for being a responsible pet owner!
Yes, they do have kittens available at the Maryland Heights location. Check the website for all available animals
58 unless it's a desirable pedigree it's been 200. You also have to remember to make a donation by buying something lik a cipoar
They list adoptable animals on the website. Some animals are there, but not yet ready for adoption, so they won't be listed on the website.
They have deposit boxes in the off hours
I have adopted here, but it was over 15 years ago. The cost was $100 and I don't no about the senior discount.
Certain ones
Yes, they do
Every dog or cat that we've had has lived with us until they reached old age and either died in my arms or had to be put down by Laps of Love due to old age or a terminal illness. They are our family and every time one of them goes over the rainbow my heart is broken. But we need to pass on that love to another fur baby that needs a FO REVER home.
Good Will for Fold out mattress?
Go up there and let them know they might have you fill out a surrender form
Yes they have puppy teeth but you might want to try and get him looked at if it keeps bleeding.
We were there to adopt... I would suggest calling them.
Yes call them and ask when they are having an adoption event... they are usually lower cost.
As of right now, I'm not sure. I would call just to check. But for some reason I'm thinking you need an appt. Covid, ya-know
Hi Linda! Donated items can be dropped off at designated spots outside our St. Louis City and Maryland Heights locations. Thank you so much for thinking of us!
Humane society animals are listed on the site. All the rules for adaption are on the site.
See who
If your looking for a puppie you can go on there web site and see what dogs they have rescued. Just look up humane society in Google or any Web Browser
They have a vet but unfortunately they are on the more expensive side.
Hello Susan! We generally only do same-day adoptions. We're open until 6pm on week days and we're open on the weekend, too, so hopefully your work schedule can get you in to one of our adoption centers on your day off! Thank you for choosing to adopt!
No they don't. But it doesnt take long to drop off and they are very friendly.
Marina - Please contact our Animal Cruelty Task Force immediately. They have investigators on 24/7. You can reach them at 314.647.4400. Thank you for speaking up for animals!
I'm not sure I recently had my son's cat cremated, and it was a very fair price.
Hello Corey! If you're missing a pet, the best thing to do is to visit www.stllostpets.org. There, you can view photos and descriptions of pets who have been brought in to the STL area's largest shelters. You can also submit a missing pet report that will be shared with those shelters, and you'll be contacted if there's a match! The very best thing to do, however, is to visit the shelters in person. Nobody knows your pet like you do! Also, contact your pet's microchip company to make sure your contact information is up to date and to report the pet as lost. We hope Thor comes back safe, and soon!
Hello! We are open for adoptions seven days a week, but please be advised we take our last adoption about 30 minutes before we close to allow time to complete the adoption as well as bed down the animals for the night. Generally, puppies under 9 months of age start at around $285, but the adoption fee can vary. It's best just to come in and see who makes your heart flutter! Adoptions include spay/neuter surgery, microchip, up-to-date vaccinations, a starter bag of Purina food, and much more. Thank you for choosing to adopt!
She is listed as available on PetHarbor, so yes. The shelter opens at 10:00 AM. I would suggest getting there just before the doors open.
You may contact our Animal Cruelty Task Force at 314.647.4400 but unfortunately it may be a difficult situation - there are many commercially available poisons that may target one species but affect a wide variety of other species. You may want to also contact your HOA or other neighborhood groups to spread the word about the harm that poisons can do and the unintended affects of them, as well as humane alternatives. The Wildlife Center of Missouri may have some great information for you on this subject as well - they are a great organization. Thank you for doing what you can to advocate for these animals!
Hello Tina! You are welcome to bring the dog to either of our adoption centers any time we're open. Please allow a little time to complete a behavior history so we can best rehome the puppy. Also, if your son is over 18, he is legally the owner and must bring the pet in himself, or accompany you to do so. Thank you!
A lot of dog desperately need adoption, the staff there are eager to help you make the right decision, based on you situation and needs,if I could I would adopt them all.😁
Hello Ashley! We DO! Please check out our horse and farm animal division, Longmeadow Rescue Ranch, at www.longmeadowrescueranch.org - and you can also find them on Facebook and Instagram! Thank you!
Phil has been adopted! Yay!
Hello Carrie! You can view all of our available animals at hsmo.org/adopt. Kitten season is coming VERY soon (springtime) and we'll have lots of kittens available for adoption. We can't always say whether they are purebred or not, but we will surely have some adorable longhaired floofy kittens in the near future! Thank you for choosing to adopt!

My wife is in fragile health, first time she has laughed and smile, our puppy Chino has been one of our best choices ever,he feel like wev,e had him forever.
You'll have to call them...
Hello Jasmine! You'll need to be 18 or older and have a valid ID with you. Also, if you rent where you live (or live with your parents) you'll want to make sure ahead of time that it's a-ok to bring home a pet and pay any pet deposits if necessary. For dogs and cats, we'll supply you with a leash/carrier, but if you're adopting a rat or critter, it's best to bring a plastic or metal carrier to take them home. Thank you for choosing to adopt!

Michael, we're so sorry to hear about your dog! We do perform humane euthanasia. If you'd like to be present, please make an appointment by calling 314.951.1534 If you do not wish to be present, you can bring your dog to either of our shelter locations during normal business hours. It's a tough decision - we send our sympathy during a difficult time.
We're so sorry to hear about your dog, Annie! The cost varies, so it's best to give us a call - 314.951.1534
Probably. But they always have lots of sweet small dogs. You should go take a look
Call the humane society, this is just a public forum
YES!!!! Please! We are always in need of toys! If you can, please have them clean so we can give them straight to the animals! Thank you!
Hello Matthew! If you have found a stray and need to drop it off, there's usually someone available by about 8:30am. For all other requests, please stick to our posted hours. Thank you so much!
Rabbit adoptions are $15. Thank you for choosing adoption!
Hello Sheila! Yes! HSMO accepts animals from all of Missouri, not just the St. Louis area.
To board no. But kennelwood next door at macklin location will
Hello Terri! These animals are part of a court case so they will not be available for at least several weeks. Please keep an eye on our website, www.hsmo.org/adopt, as all available animals are listed there. And keep an eye on our website and social media for updates on the case! Thank you!!
Hello Madison! Please call our Animal Medical Center of Mid-America (314.951.1534) directly, as pricing can vary based on age, weight, and whether you are eligible for any low-cost spay/neuter programs. Thank you for being a responsible pet owner!
Please submit your adoption interest form to the location that has the animal you'd like to adopt. Thank you for choosing adoption!
I would call them to find out how much they charge to have them looked at and cared for
Is there a question in there?
Hello Vicki! It's not uncommon for a dog to have an upper respiratory infection after being in a shelter situation, no matter how much we do to mitigate the spread of disease. It is important to activate and take advantage of the pet insurance given to you on the day you adopted, and get your pup in to the vet, especially if they're not eating or playing. Thank you for choosing to adopt!
Dog walker volunteers must be 18 years old. BUT...we have some great Scout programs! Contact our education department at education @ hsmo.org to schedule a field trip!
They will find them a good home, I've surrendered about 12 kittens now and all were adopted within days. They won't euthinize unless the cat has like rabies or just extremely unfriendly.
100% of the adoptable dogs and cats that come into our shelter are placed in loving homes. Unfortunately, some animals have serious health problems, or temperament issues which make them dangerous to other animals or children. Sometimes animals arrive to our shelter suffering from a great amount of pain, perhaps from being hit by a car. These animals are humanely euthanized.
HSMO is an open-admission shelter, so we accept any domestic animal that hasn't bitten in the last 10 days.
Dogs over 35lbs and over 6 months of age start at $135, plus $10 for their rabies tag. Thank you for choosing to adopt!
There is no fee to surrender your own cat or to drop off strays, but we are always in need of donations to support the animals in our care. Thank you!
Bernice has been adopted!
You may want to check their website or call them. This is normally answered by other local google guides who have rated the local business.
Yes. They have a vet clinic. North County Tech school has a vet asst program. A vet will take care of your cat fir donations
Thank you. Unfortunately we went and they did not allow us to pet unless we were planning on adoption. Thank you for your responses.
I'm sorry but I'm not knowledgeable of such a program I'm quite sure that you can either call or email them for information
No they do not buy puppies. Who sells puppies to the Humane Society?!
You need to call. They can tell you
You have to call everyday o check. The don't stay very long
Yes they do. In St. Louis we have a technical school for occupations. They have one for Vet Assistants and only accept donations. North County Tech
Their website makes mention of 'affordable health care packages'/preventative care plans but nothing about paying over time. Perhaps there's a sliding scale option, but you'd likely have to call to find out.
All kinds. Many shapes, colors, sizes, ages.
