We happened upon this place on our walk to the locks, we decided we would try it on the way back. The sign said they closed at 8 but when we arrived at 6:45 they stated they were closing at 7. We asked the girl at the counter if there was anything we could do quick as we had never done VR before and we really wanted to try it. She said we could do PLANK. So husband ordered a beer (yes they sell beer!!) and I went first. Ok I was terrified. You take a VR elevator above a city and have to walk out on a plank then jump. It really messes with your head and senses. I wouldn't jump lol. The same girl was so kind and she stayed with me holding my hands until I made to "jump". We laughed so hard. This was such a fun experience. Husband went next and then could see why I was so scared.. I'm so thankful she let us have this experience to just add to the fun we experience on our trip to Seattle. THANK YOU

I had no idea this place existed. But of all people, MY WIFE found it when looking for things to do last weekend. It was $40 for a booth for an hour, so we called up her brother and his girlfriend and we all split the booth for an hour. Pro-tip, you'll need to book in advance, at least a day in advance if your going to get more than one booth. Also they're using all HTC, and no Oculus, so the resolution isn't as good as I've tried with other head sets. The other thing is the setup is defiantly oriented to be more of an Arcade than anything else. There were plenty of mom's and dad's in the lounge area enjoying a beer or catching up on work while their kids played. It would be awesome if it converted to a 21 plus after a certain time so you can stand behind your friends while they played and have your drink at the same time. --But again the layout isn't really setup for that. In the mean time, it's the only VR bar I've heard of around, and it's a great way to spend part of an afternoon with friends.

You can purchase 30 minutes as a walk-in or 1 hour spots online. It is often busy so you should try to book your spot online. I find it difficult to play for more than one hour at a time.
If they like video games, yes, absolutely - they'll love it!
Ample parking at the Nordic Museum next door for $2/hr. On site parking highly limited and street parking is... well, Ballard.
Actually, you can purchase 1/4, 1/2, 1 Hour, or even longer. All prices and details are on our website at Portalvr.us. Thanks for your question!
The place is kid friendly. However, the goggles really don't work for kids under the age of 5 or 6, and I would worry about them running into things.
Go in and ask! Great staff. Great times. Check em out
