The people at check in and the loading dock are friendly, but getting into the doors is a god-awful mess that gets worse with every trip I make here. They do appointment only, but will work you in if they can during their business hours. Drive in at the gate and someone will ask there if you’ve been there before and direct you to the back along a narrow road with product piled high next to it. Park on that road before you get to the wide spot in front of the doors, check in is located next to the last dock. No room to wait for a door except on the road, and departing drivers must squeeze through. Backing in at the doors is very tight—if you swing wide clockwise, you might have enough room to set up, but you have to contend with rigs already in the doors, vast piles of various discarded product on your left and right, and several large dumpsters they decided to drop in the only turn around space for trucks. Even though they have plenty of run for their trash piles, they like to put them where they can make life the hardest for professional drivers. This place is out in nowhere, so give yourself time to get to the truckstops west of Durham or plan on parking in the nearby Walmart lot—if you do, park close to the BBQ restaurant and do NOT leave a mess or that parking will no longer be available.
