Why are these people getting paid to let the insurance company rip us off. A inspector came to my house to inspect my property he left my hot tub cover and top off. Rain got in it which turned to Ice. Nationwide wouldn't send the pictures they took of tub and lying so they won't have to replace the hot tub. They want me to take out a claim which would go against me. This bad behavior with insurance companies its horrible and scammers. I wish there was no stars to give. Waste if tax payer money.

Why doesn't the IL Dept of Insurance hold companies like DIRECT AUTO responsible, who never want to pay their claims. This needs to be addressed. Who is getting paid to not make these companies accountable?

Substandard Government Organization, and perfect example with everything that is wring with Illinois bureaucracy. Though it took the state (one of the most expensive in the US to be licensed in) less than an hour to issue me a license IN THE WRONG NAME. It has been 3 weeks of making over 60 unanswered phone calls, including 4 voice mails, sending 7 emails that are ignored, and writing a letter through USPS to please correct their error. Now I will spend 12 hours in a car, and God knows how much in gas to drive to Springfield Illinois from out of state, praying that there is at least a human in the office that can fix their error, so that I am able to use the license I paid for.

With the other driver not cooperating with their insurance company, your only beneficial recourse is filing a civil suit against that driver.
Here is the IDOI contact page with phone numbers and email addresses, you can also file a complaint online. https://insurance.illinois.gov/main/contactUs.html
Until you plea out
Sounds like you need an attorney. They can address issues with the Department of Insurance. I've never got an answer from them. You need an attorney. Good luck.
Most companies do this, especially since vehicles are one policy. You can only submit one claim for each occurrence. You are always welcome to file a complaint online.
The Illinois Department of Insurance - follow this link to file a complaint online: mc.insurance.illinois.gov/messagecenter.nsf
Check your policy language, but there probably is wording that says they won't pay a claim unless the vehicle is locked with the windows up and there is evidence that someone broke into your car.
You would need to call DHS directly. We can give you basic information, but we'll direct you to them. Sorry.
https://www.statebasedsystems.com/solar/index.html This link should help you. It's pretty easy to navigate. You could call DOI on Monday if you have problems.
You should call producer licensing and ask about this. They have an education unit that will be able to answer your question.
I suggest you call the Department and ask them. I don't know anything about health.

Before you go to that cost (and it can be costly), call the Department of Insurance and speak to a P&C complaint analyst. It's free. They can guide you through the complaint process. If you decide to use an engineer, make sure you get the right kind. There are a lot of different engineers who don't know anything about roofs. If you go with a PA, call the Department to make sure they're licensed in Illinois. Also, there are no laws governing how much they can charge. Their charge comes out of the payment from your insurance. It's NOT an additional amount the insurance company pays.
You need to check your policy language. If you still have questions after you read it, please call the property and casualty consumer complaint unit. They'll need to see the policy wording, so make sure you have it when you call. I could make a guess, but I deal mostly with commercial policies, which are vastly different from personal. You can find contact information at www.insurance.illinois.gov.
The Department does not have judicial authority, so they haven't found anyone guilty of anything. Only the courts can determine guilt. If you're asking how many complaints have been filed against a specific company, that information can be found on their website: www.insurance.illinois.gov. You can call their toll free number and ask to speak to someone about this. They'll talk you through the website so you can look at all of the company information on complaints.
