You should get it in writing so that they cant come back and say anything different. Wait, are you saying it cost you $35 to get a quote? Quotes are free for any project and if they are charging you for it, I would ask the manager of that lowes about them charging you for it. Even lowes corporate office, let them know that someone is making you pay for a quote, I'm pretty sure the guy will put that money in his pocket if you have paid it. I dont know of anyone that charges for quotes.
