The Devil is in The Details. The industry standard mattress size for an Eastern King size bed 76 x 80. Putting an 80 inch long eastern king mattress on two regular 75 inch twin box springs really does not work correctly. Do Two Twins Equal a King? - STL Beds This was one answer i got from google. Hope this helps.
