Lovely small museum showcasing the history of Vashon.

Very cool for what it is, a small island museum highlighting local and regional history. Go for the native American history of the island, all of us white people could learn a thing or two about how we screwed up in the past, and remember how we continue screwing up cultures and the planet in the present.

Beautiful shore and a great place to view seals and Rainier.

Wonderful museum about the Island. Significant information on the Japanese - American's interned from the Island during WWII. Plus the history of the island from it's original inhabitants to today.

The Vashon Heritage Museum has a map showing all the locations. Ask a docent to show it to you. One hangs on the wall in the lobby.
There is a good collection of photos on the Stolz family, and also the Zarth family who is related. That you are apparently not local, you could plan a visit well in advance so that the materiaks would be available for research.
The museum is free for all. You can make a donation if you'd like but there is no cost. Welcome to the museum.
